Rating: Summary: Like Other Joyce Meyer Books, I Learned Something! Review: I loved reading this book. Like all of her books that I have read, I always walk away with added knowledge. The "to the point" in a passionate, caring attitude creates a great way to open yourself up and realize how you can change. In this book, she talks about how God has planned for us to have to wait. We must be content while we are on board waiting. How we decide to act while waiting all depends on our attitude. We can have a sour one or a sweet one! Its up to us! A great book. I included it on my "You'd Like To" guide, along with other "women of faith" books like "Leaving Lancaster County" by Teresa Phillips(ISBN: 0974521272), and other great books! Take a peek at my list- other Joyce Meyer books are on there!

Rating: Summary: A great compliment to the book. Review: About 18 months ago, I purchased Battlefied of the Mind and wow! As Joyce explained in the book, you must think about what you are thinking about. I never realized that my problem was my inability to control my thoughts. I found the part about the wilderness mentalities extremely helpful. I am a much more thoughtful person as a result of this book!
Rating: Summary: You CAN win this battle! Review: Anxiety has been my life-long companion, and a disabling one at that. Joyce CLEARLY, EASILY explains how to take God at His word, without throwing your mind out the window. If you find it especially hard to overthrow a habit of fear and grumbling because you are analytical, intellectual and resistant to immature and unreasonable spiritual principles that urge you to "name it and claim it" -- this book is for you. Joyce shows how to trust God and be at peace in a way that embraces reality.
Rating: Summary: It Hits Home Review: Battlefield of the Mind hits home so many times. It talked about things that I have been through and things that I am going throught. The book shows that the mind is the leader of all our actions. Battlefield of the Mind has showed me how to start renewing my mind, in a way that I can relate to. It shows you Scripture quotations that have made it a lot easier for me to renew my mind. It tells us that by renewing our minds according to God's Word, we will learn the good and acceptable and perfect will of God for our lives. The book shows us that negative thoughts can, and will keep us in a negative life. I was living proof of that, after reading Battlefield of the Mind my thinking changed and so has my life. Our mind is Satan's Playground, if we allow it to happen. The book shows us how satan tries to bombard our minds by deceiving us into believing damaging thoughts and strongholds that keep us in bondage. Battlefield of the Mind had three parts, the importance of the mind, which showed me how the mind worked. The conditions of the mind, tells how to reshape your mind and use it right. And, the wilderness mentalities, I think is the best part because it tells how to get rid of the old way of thinking. All three parts are full of informantion that will help you to renew your mind. Battlefield of the mind is one of the best books I have read on renewing the mind and spirit.
Rating: Summary: Battlefield of the mind Review: BUY THIS BOOK IT WILL CHANGE YOUR OUTLOOK ON LIFE..GO JOYCE WE LOVE YOU
Rating: Summary: "Think about what you're thinking about" Review: Clearly written and biblically based, Joyce Meyer lays out the principles to stop the negativity in one's thinking, from the endless loop of senseless chatter that drifts through the mind to the ingrained fragments of resentment that might have festered for years, to the "wilderness mentality" that sets up road blocks to what the Lord wants us to do.
The advice she gives is to the point and easily understood, and if one is willing, easily implemented too. It is ideal for anyone starting out on the Christian path and also has invaluable reminders for those who have been whittling the chaff away from the wheat for years, as there is always a corner of our minds that can use a little extra sweeping.
"You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind" (pg. 12)."
Joyce Meyer cites many personal stories to illustrate her points with much honesty, and describes the tools she used to combat her personal battles of the mind and achieve balance in her life; Mental discipline of course is a never-ending battle, making the advice in this book (which can be applied to any faith) useful for our own well-being, as well as reflect in our relationships. "People living in the vanity of their own mind not only destroy themselves, but far too often, they bring destruction to others around them" (pg. 278).
Depression, confusion, doubt, fear, anxiety, "a judgmental, critical and suspicious mind", are all states that hold happiness and peace away from us, and the cure starts with self-observation and the renewal of the mind. Let Joyce help make the crooked path of one's daily thoughts straight with this well written and insightful book.
Rating: Summary: A must read for women everywhere. Review: Every woman should read this book, but I especially recommend this book for new mothers. When I started reading this book I thought - I wish had read this book when I was caring for my newborn. Having a newborn child has been the most trying time in my life - you're tired, your house is a mess, you wish your husband would help more, you would like to know what sleep felt like again and you have to get up and go to work. This book deals with all the feelings and thoughts that go through your mind and teaches you how to use prayer and stop sinful mind patterns. She is very straight forward and does not pretend that it is an easy task. She offers encouragement and examples of how bad thinking effected her life. You will want to read this book more than once, because it's teachings are so profound. It will truly impact your life. You'll wish you had read it sooner.
Rating: Summary: excellent, powerful and insightful book! Review: I began to read this book and I love it! I am half way through it and some of the things Joyce has said are real and work on my mind. I know this is something that will help me in my severe depression.
