Summary: great book for teachers who need hard concepts spoken simply
Review: The book is very easy to read, it is arranged (naturally) very systematically and simplifies lesson plans. The theological vocabularly is complete, yet the definitions are easily grasped.Excellent for teachers who are attempting to lay a firm foundation in the life of new and not-so-new believers. Spiritually probing and enlightening..brings new thoughts to the mature Christian. Study questions at the end of chapters are excellent, thought provoking.

Summary: Grudem's section on God's attributes is top notch!
Review: I have been teaching God-centered approaches to theology in seminary in Taiwan and picked up Grudem recently. His section on the attributes of God, the image of God in man and the Trinity were very well done and should be read by all believers seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of God. I think these parts give the finest readable, devotional treatments of these subjects I've ever read. Very thorough treatment of the views of biblical creation too! I look forward to studying this work more carefully to integrate his fresh ideas on God's character and glory with my seminary teaching!

Summary: A Systematic Theology from a Charismatic Calvanist!
Review: Finally! You CAN be a Calvanist AND a Charismatic (notice I didn't say "Pentacostalist") at the same time and not have to apologize for it.

Here's a great systematic theology in readable English. It's humerous that it comes from a prof who teaches at a seminary run by a denomination that doesn't have a systematic approach to theology!

Definately worth every penny and more.

Summary: This book gave me the insight to escape a damaging situation
Review: I had served at a non-denominational church faithfully for 12 years. The church grew from 30 persons to well over 1500 in just 10 years. However, much of the growth centered around the government and control of one charismatic leader, and through time it became a very controlling and manipulative environment. The laity was kept in a state of spiritual adolesence. Though I had numerous troubling thoughts and opinions about the way things were going, it wasn't until I read this books chapters on government and the purity of the church that the lights went off, from a purely biblical perspective. I made the very painful decision to leave the church, and although the process was tough, my family is now growing stronger than ever with our newfound love of scripture and of Christ. God used this book to save us from many griefs that come through scriptural naviety.

Summary: The most Elementary in theological reading
Review: This book by Grudem is the easiest book dealing with Christian theology I have ever read. I am considering using it to teach a class at my church. It compares the Catholic,Protostant, and Calvinist viewpoint to compare doctrinal issues and uses biblical scripture to demonstrate how they line up

Summary: Excellent
Review: One does not have to agree with Grudem's theological views to greatly benefit from this systematic theology. He summarizes other major viewpoints on various issues quite well, as well as providing solid biblical support for his position. The book is very readable, written for lay people, not those schooled in Greek and Hebrew. And it is written as a call to worship our mighty God. As John Piper says, Correct doctrine should lead to white-hot worship.

Summary: Excellent Overview of Christian Theology
Review: If you want to know what evangelicals of various persuasions believe about a theological topic and don't know where to begin looking, buy this book. This book is a must own for all serious evangelicals who care about Bible truths. It provides an excellent 'Third Wave' evangelical systematic theology, with many excellent references for further comparative studies into all major branches of Evangelicalism...and beyond.

Summary: One of the best Systematic Theologies written in 20th Centur
Review: Wayne Grudem has written one of the most balanced Systematic Theology books in this century. It is readable, even to the novice to theology, but contains the depth needed to communicate the great truths of the Christian message. I recommend it highly to pastors and laymen who want to better understand the teaching of the Scriptures in a systematic manner. Grudem acknowledges other views, without putting them down, but is clear as to where he stands. No theological/Biblical library is complete without Grudem.

Summary: I was very disappointed in the book.
Review: Grudem's Systematic Theology is current and mentions contemorary names such as Bill Clinton, John Wimber, etc. There are too many problems to list in a brief review such as this. My main concern is that he is anti-dispensational, believes in the special creation of the soul at conception, espouses a strong Calvinistic position and leans heavily into Charismaticism. There are many more problems, but these are my main concerns. For those looking for a good biblical theology, go through Grudem carefully with both eyes open.

Summary: Adopted book for our Biblical Studies Institute
Review: We are in the process of working through this excellent systematic theology as a class on Wednesday nights. Our group consists of students and community people in the college town of Miami University (of Ohio). I appreciate Grudem's handling the issues in a humble yet forthright manner. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to become grounded in the foundational areas of theology. It is straightforward, practical, and highly applicational in it's approach!
