Summary: PURE ENLIGHTENMENT
Review: I read this book and learned how to cry for me and 'clean up' my life.

For many years I have been struggling with issues of self-esteem. I knew the root of the issue was sexual abuse, but I didn't know how to get over it. I could never answer the question why me? I could never cry for myself and the people who hurt me and let go and let God.

Then I read this book. The answer/my lesson was so clear and so plain I wondered how I hadn't learned it sooner. I no longer look at life with disdain and groan and bemoan life's lessons because God is not finished with me yet!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truly a great lesson in overcoming adversity.
Review: I feel so thankful and relieved to know that there is someone out there who can identify with my experience of hurt and abuse and is so selfless and honest that she can share her life experiences to help others. No matter how many books Iyanla writes I could never get enough of her as she continues to show me through Yesterday I Cried, that I too can overcome and learn to honour and celebrate myself.

Summary: college student age 24 been through a hard time in life!!
Review: God Bless!!! She is a truly wonderful and spirtual woman. When I first read her book, I could not put it down for nothing. She is not a victim because she didn't see herself as a victim and I truly do admire her for that. She truly did inspire me to look at myself and the people around me.

Summary: Validating and inspiring...Life does go on.
Review: I have read several of Iyanla's books and found this one to be very validating of my life experiences. As a Truth-seeker myself, I related especially to her ideas which explain reality versus our perceptions and ego. I was never much of a reader before picking up Iyanla's books. Now, I can't get enough.

Summary: I felt that she was actually a normal person
Review: I've read several of Ms. Vanzant's books but after reading this particular book I felt that she is actually a normal person who feels the same way that I do about certain things. She can be very spiritual and I've found that she is very balanced from her life experiences.

Summary: A life changing book!
Review: I have been a fan of Iyanla's since working through One Day My Soul Just Opened Up. There are some people you just connect with and Iyanla was that person for me. Each time I read one of her books, I learn more about my own personal journey. Thank you Iyanla for being a part of my life and my journey.

Summary: Inspiring!!!
Review: I have all of Ms. Vanzant's books. Yesterday, I Cried is an excellent book. I believe anyone should be able to read this book, based on Ms. Vanzant's child and adulthood experiences, and apply to their own lives. When I read of the storms that have occurred in Ms. Vanzant's life, it shows that with faith, motivation and determination, anyone can overcome their storms. I was inspired through her writing to continue to keep the faith and everything will be alright. Thanks, Iyanla. God bless you!!!

Summary: You Can Never Judge a Book by It's Cover!
Review: Iyanla, I loved your book. I loved it more than anything else you've ever written in the past. I am so grateful to you for courageously sharing your life with the world. You've encouraged me in ways I'd thought were impossible. Thank You for holding on to life and persevering. Our lives have been enriched by you. God Bless You!

Summary: Same material previously covered.
Review: This book was not what I was expecting. This is actually a re-written version of many of her books. I believe it's time for Iyanla to move forward and leave the past behind. I have almost every one of her books and have been delighted by them all. This one however, was not meant for those of us that have several of her books.
