Summary: My letter to Christopher Reeve is in the book
Review: Four years ago, I wrote a letter to Christopher Reeve. At the time I was in fifth grade. It was a simple brief "get well" letter. I had no idea that my letter would be one of the few chosen to be in his new book. I am incredibly honored to be in his book and wish him only the best. Love, Emily Mark

Summary: This book is not what you might expect it to be.
Review: I am more than thrilled when I read readers' comments aboutthis collection of letters. People are finding the letters and stories inspiring; they find my husband and I inspiring. That is terrific. I am truly pleased. But wait! For all of you cynics out there -- those of you who are anticipating nothing but a lovey-dovey collection of sacharine sweet messages of hope, inspiration, and love -- take another look. The letters in this book are also funny, irreverent, genuinely wise, and sometimes a little weird. There's something for everyone. Time and time again I have had people tell me the book was not what they expected. I love hearing that because, frankly, not all these letters were what we expected to get from friends and well-wishers after my husband's accident. There are adorable letters from kids: "I'm sorry you fell off your horse. Let's hope it won't happen again." and "I'm in second grade. Send me a picture of a salamander. Are you feeling all right?" There are letters from childhood friends and college aquaintances (get the inside scoop on what Christopher was like in the early years). And, of course, there are celebrity letters from the likes of Paul McCartney, Richard Dreyfuss, Hugh Grant, Antonio Benderas and Melanie Griffith, David Hyde Pierce (you know, Niles from "Frasier"), Robert DeNiro, Penn and Teller, and Emma Thompson , to name-drop but a few. Perhaps Katharine Hepburn says it best when she writes: "My golly. What a mess. Call me." Interspersed within the chapters of letters are stories from our life which I hope put the letters in some context.

Reasons you should buy this book: 1) The letters are, in fact, incredibly inspiring -- but in ways you may not expect. 2) It's a quick read. And it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when you read it. 3)It's not often you get the chance to read other people's mail. 4)It's only twenty bucks. (sixteen on Amazon.com) 5)It makes a terrific, thoughtful gift 6)The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation is making more money on it than the author. It's for a good cause... 7)My mother says it's a wonderful book. And she knows a lot of stuff.

Check it out. It's fun. Thank you.

Summary: Chris Reeve is an inspiration to young and old.
Review: I first met Chris in Atlanta in 1994 and was struck by his grace and incredible presence. I saw him again at a private party following his star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 15, 1997. The Reeve family are a fine example of the true meaning of "family". Meeting them and being involved with fund-raising and Superman events has changed my life. I exchanged this wonderful, touching book with my little Superman buddy, Joey, on Thanksgiving day. This 8-year-old boy is the biggest Superman fan I know. We took a photo together in our Superman shirts with our books and many of Joey's Superman collectibles. I mailed the photo, along with Joey's special letter and gift for Chris, to the Reeves' home on New Year's Day. Joey, his mom and I love the "Kids" chapter of this book with all of the lovely drawings and messages from children all over the world. I've never loved a book more than this one. Thanks Dana! I believe that Chris will be best known as the Super Man who helped all disabled people fulfill their dreams. Jim Bowers - Flying78@bellsouth.net.

Summary: "See there are a few nice people left in the world !"
Review: I think most people today have become bitter and cold. Not bothering to take the time to even say 'good morning,' in most cases. You are lucky to get someone (today) to even nod their head with a good morning gesture. It is nice to discover that there are a few people still left in the world today who are polite enough to send someone like 'Superman,' a warm and heartfelt good luck wish!

Summary: Heart-warming and a great tribute to a fine person
Review: I think this is a charming and insightful collection, and I feel not the least bit silly spending money on it. Christopher Reeve is one of my heroes, and I wrote e-mail to him via a website not long after his accident. I'm gratified and warmed to see how many other people did something similar.

Chris, you're much loved - and Dana, thank you for sharing these letters with us. We haven't forgotten either of you, and we're still praying for that moment that all the fighting and struggling pays off.

Summary: You'll be touched and inspired
Review: If you don't mind shedding a good tear when you watch "Touched By An Angel," but you have no appetite for fake inspirational slop, this book is perfect.

The genuine letters from the hearts of real people to other real people are something that nobody could make up. It's like really being touched by human angels.

This book is a real blessing. It's also something you can pick up and get a blessing from in just a minute or two, then go on about the tasks at hand. Don't waste a minute! Get one for you and another for someone you want to share the blessing with!

Really, the question shouldn't be whether to buy the book, but how many you can buy.

God's love is in those letters. You will feel it.

Summary: I'm in it-- of course I'm going to give it 5 stars!
Review: Since I was a little kid, Superman was my hero, and when the man who *I* thought of as Superman fell off his horse, I was devastated. I wrote a long and embarrassingly gushy letter to him, never dreaming he'd even be the one to read it, let alone having it put into a BOOK! As an aspiring author, this is both a thrill and a humiliation-- my letter was TERRIBLE! Nevertheless, I hope you'll buy a copy. There's some stuff in here that will REALLY inspire you. Christopher Reeve is a living example of the fact that God can take bad things and use them for astonishing good.

Summary: Dana calls these letters gifts, they are a gift to us all!
Review: Thanks to Dana Reeve, we get a gift every time we read this book! Buy it as a present to yourself! I loved this book! * Sniff * Many beautiful things can come out of something terrible. The out pouring of love for Christopher Reeve is amazing! His acting in "Somewhere in Time" was my favorite and I am a fan, but his courage through his ordeal is altogether awe inspiring. Thank-YOU, Dana! Buy this book today!
