Summary: Good book
Review: More or less a continuation of "One Last Time", for those of you who read his other books, worth reading.

As for the skeptics, well they are around, I say prove there is no after life. No didn't think you could. Just disregard them and judge for yourselves.

Summary: Same old, Same Old
Review: My local bookstore had "After Life" on its shelves a couple of weeks ago, so I purchased it with great excitement. Unfortunately, that's the only thing exciting about the book.

"After Life" was written with Natasha Stoynoff, a writer for People Magazine, and that is the way most of this book reads. There are plugs for everything from John's favorite fast food franchises (McDonald's), car manufacturers, Hay House Book Company, favorite obscure recording artists, Hollywood Stars, Oprah, you get the idea. The only plugs missing are American Express and Budweiser. This is the smallest problem with the book, but an annoying one.

Simply I've read this all before, except for some of the celebrity readings and the chapter on his father. There is a small chapter on Australia, and except for the message he received in the water tank, his connections with the animals seems more emotional and stronger than those with people.

It is obvious John wrote with someone else. The commercial plugs are right out of a People Magazine article and there is no emotion to most of the book. Saying you get a 'warm and fuzzy feeling' does not convey emotion. It is almost clinical in it's style. It is as if John was using his hospital background to keep himself, the family or person being read, as well as the reader at arms length so much so, that there is absolutely no bond or emotional connection. Yes, the people being read are getting closure, but as a reader of this book, I felt nothing, nada, just an empty, sterilized, sanitized story.

Finally in the last couple of chapters a new voice comes through. It is obvious John Edward is writing this part by himself. All of the sudden there is emotion, feelings, a completely different tone, a story needing to be told-sometimes heart wrenching, sometimes anger inducing, sometimes laughter, but here is the excitement and emotion so desperately needed. However, most of this part is copied, almost verbatim from his other books.

If you must read this book, go to the library.

Summary: Unresolved Feelings
Review: One of the great features of this book by John Edward is his personal story of the difficult relationship he had with his father.

Reading his story and his belief in continuing the healing process even after biological death can be a significant comfort for those who never had the opportunity to say they were sorry, they really loved the other person, or whatever should have been said that never was.

I would recommend this book to anyone facing such a daunting task as continuing to live while a loved one died not knowing the depth of love left unsaid.

Summary: Pleasant reading......
Review: Reading this book was like sitting down and conversing with a friend who shares his experiences with you. I love John's natural style. He comes across as someone I would like to know. In fact, it seems when reading his books, that you do know him.

Summary: Kinda Boring too
Review: Some of it was kind of b o r i n g, but in general I thought this was a good book on ways to understand the afterlife, and ghosts and such. There were some good stories, but too few. I would recommend (2) other books, "Psychic Gifts in the Christian Life - Tools to Connect" by Tiffany Snow, tells some things, and differences, about "energy tracings" ghosts, spirits, and "fallen angels" as well as some new things about how to try to see them, how to send them "to the light" (both ghosts and fallen angels/demons), along with a lot of unique and sometimes funny stories. Also, "Ghosts at my Back Door - and in the Living Room!" by Angela Watkins is a good book, although it may be out of print here in the US. This is mostly stories, but from a ghost hunter who has a lot of experiences, both frightening and funny, and also how to "expel" or "exorcise" them (so does Snow's book, a part on exorcism of dark spirits). John's book is OK, but it isn't the complete "Bible" on ghosts, hauntings, etc. It's good enough to add to your collection, though.

Summary: INSPIRATIONAL! IT'S ALL ABOUT FAITH BABY!
Review: THE FIRST TIME I SAW JOHN EDWARD WAS IN ATLANTIC CITY YEARS AGO, NO I DID NOT GET READ! I THOUGH HE WAS ABRUPT, AND I AM SORRY TO SAY NOT VERY PERSONABLE, BUT I HAVE SINCE READ HIS BOOKS AND I HAVE TO SAY, IN HIS BOOKS JOHN IS VERY PERSONABLE AND YOU KIND OF FEEL YOU GET TO KNOW HIM, HIS BACKGROUND AND HIS BELIEFS! I FOUND HIS BOOK AFTER LIFE VERY INSPIRATIONAL AND WELL WRITTEN! IN AFTER LIFE I FOUND JOHN VERY PERSONABLE. I HAVE SEEN HIM SEVERAL TIMES SINCE AND THE LAST TIME WAS 9/17/04 AND IT WAS LIKE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON FROM THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM YEARS AGO IN AC. JOHN HAS GROWN AS A MEDIUM AND AS A PERSON! HE WAS WARM AND FUNNY AND VERY PERSONABLE. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME! NO AGAIN NO READING, BUT THE TRUTH IS I DO NOT NEED JOHN TO TELL ME MY LOVED ONE'S ARE AROUND, THEY TELL ME ALL THE TIME! SO IF YOU WILL, JOHN IS SETTING THE STAGE FOR YOU TO OPEN YOUR MIND & HEARTS AND HAVE FAITH! THE BOOK WAS NOT WRITTEN WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNIVERSE AND CONCRETE BLACK & WHITE ANSWERS FROM THE OTHER SIDE. IT WAS WRITTEN, IN MY OPINION, TO OPEN US UP TO THE POSSIBILITIES. TO BE AWARE OF OUR SPIRITUAL SIDE, NOT BRUSH OFF SIGNS AND CONNECTIONS BECAUSE OUR RATIONAL ADULT MINDS TELL US IT CAN'T BE. IT CAN BE! THAT IS WHAT I GOT FROM AFTER LIFE! SO THANK YOU JOHN - I ALWAYS KNEW THEY WOULD ALWAYS BE WITH ME, I HAVE VERY STRONG FAITH! BUT I TOO BRUSHED OFF SOME OF THE SIGNS THINKING OK IM CRAZY - NOT ANY MORE! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THERE IS MORE TO THIS WORLD THAN JUST WHAT YOU CAN SEE - I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS BOOK AND ALSO ONE LAST TIME!

Summary: AfterLife
Review: This book has touched me deeply. "What if God were the sun" I think will always be my favorite book by John or anyone else. Afterlife is special because John shares a VERY personal side of his life and work that rivals any seminar I have been too. More importantly, the journey is full of many lessons.
What touched me the most was hearing how John's Dad couldn't express Love. It brought tears to my eyes to think of John as a child not receiving that. But I was so inspired to read how John is not making the same mistakes with his Son. The tenderness he shows aout Justin is so sweet. John is still acknowledging his dad on the otherside. Continuing a relationship with him full of forgiveness, love and understanding. WOW

I also walked away with a deeper respect for Sandra. John's wife. Her love and support for John during the birth of their Son and the way she supported John through his "Dad issues" brought tears to my eyes.

I know you will love this book. I only wish it had more pages to it so I could read more.

If you have any issues with a loved one that has passed and you think that it can't be resolved or you cant heal..I highly suggest you get this book. It will inspire, guide and help you on your journey.

Summary: Inspirational and moving!
Review: This book is just phenomenal, it describes John's experiences in Australia, his uncanny ability to "read" the Aussie animals there, his very special teacher Shelley Peck as his mentor, teacher, and best friend, readings with some celebrities such as the astronauts and Aiyallah. I learned a great deal from his "lessons" from the Afterlife. This book is NOT to be missed! I highly recommend it!!!

Review: This book left me wanting to know more. It just didn't go as deep as I felt it could have, or should have.
