Summary: Ye of so little faith...
Review: I totally enjoyed the book, but gave it 4 stars just because some might find it "more of the same" (I've read all his books). I enjoy any bits of info I can get from John about his gift and the fact that he's human, too. As for the cynics, I say "how sad!" I can see how somebody who has watched his show "a couple of times" might think that he just doing "cold readings", but you need to look a little closer or watch longer. How can you write off a phone reading as a "cold reading"? I first saw John on a local morning show, promoting his first book (before he had his own tv show), and watched it only so I could make fun of the "phony psychic"--boy, he blew me away! He was so specific and detailed that the hosts and audience were truly freaked out. I made a note to myself to remember his name and buy his book. Well, I didn't get around to it, but heard about his tv show and tuned in to see that it was, indeed, that amazing guy I saw earlier. I've been watching & reading ever since. And I still consider myself a skeptic, but John Edward has proved to me that he's the real deal--and what a great person to be given such a gift. I think he handles it well and is not some kind of con artist making money off idiots! For those who don't believe, I say, "how sad to have lost a connection to your own soul!"

Summary: Life After...After Life
Review: If John Edward were a baseball player he would have hit one out of the park with his latest release, After Life! This could easily be called "One Last Time, Part 2"! This book has the same personal feel as the first book John wrote. This book takes you on a journey into the After Life where you get to be part of readings with others and get a true feel for the process. After Life made me laugh, it made me cry, it made the hairs on my arms and back of my neck stand up but most importantly it made me feel at ease knowing that my loved ones are okay, in a better place and always with me. This books is amazing, I give it the highest rating and a big thank you to Mr. Edward for making me feel at ease!

Summary: A truly fantastic book
Review: If you are a John Edward fan, or just interested in psychic phenomena, this an enjoyable book for you. It is both helpful and informative. I've read all three of the author's non-fiction books and have enjoyed each one. The author explains how he is able to connect with the energies of those who have passed, and in so doing is able to give love and comfort their families and friends. What makes this book so special is that it is written in a plain and straight forth manner, giving examples of private readings, and those that were for the author's program, "Crossing Over." I also like that the author comes across as a real person, with the same, if not more, of the earthly tribulations that we all encounter. The author discusses (and has discussed in his past works) his relationship with his mother's family and with his mother's passing. In this work, he presents information about his relationship with his father. As mentioned before, this serves to make the author into a "real" person with vulnerabilities and problems like anyone else. Also, importantly, the author comes across as a genuinely nice person, like someone that you would have as a friend or acquantance. I think this is important, because in a lot of autobiographies, or self help books, the author may present a lot of helpful information, but at the same time can also turn off the reader with his/her lifestyle, attitudes, or choices. I was able to read this book in a couple of short sittings. It was truly enjoyable and I would highly recommend it.

Review: In 'After Life', we see the profound insights of a truly gifted author. Every word is charged with energy and beauty. Mr Edward has the unique ability to demystify esoteric concepts without diminishing their truth. A life-long learner and teacher, the author's clarity of vision commands respect. His 'journey' was recently revealed in a spellbinding interview with Jay Leno, during which Mr Edward epitomized his philosophy in this beautifully simple sentence: "Jay, I live inside my head, which explains why I'm always behind with the rent." And to the sceptics who cynically contend that talking with the dead is arrant nonsense, let me introduce you to the accountants over at Paramount. You WILL believe.

Summary: John Edward Does It Again!
Review: In this, John's latest book, he again "converses" with his reader as if he were a good friend just having an after dinner conversation. His style is honest, warm and friendly...always with a good dose of (New York) humor. Always true to the "process," John explains his work, his experiences and the messages to others from the other side. Following him "on the road," he explains how the messages from the other side are the same, yet individual, to each person...no matter where they live or what language they speak. And to further add to the reader's sense of not being alone in their own feelings and experiences, John talks openly about his own personal life. If you believe in the "process," you'll finish the book (all too soon) and feel uplifted and enriched for the opportunity to share the spiritualism, love, honesty and teaching that John so freely shares with anyone wanting to hear his message. If you are a skeptic, you may still question, but you'll still ask yourself, "but, what if?" A cynic? You still won't find anything to discredit John, his work, and the process he shares. Thank you, again, John for opening so much of your life, experiences and beliefs with so many, at a time when it is greatly needed and increasingly sought after. Once again, will look forward to your next book in 2004!

Review: John Edward is an amazing and inspiring person. I've read all of his books and seen his t.v. show. I consider myself a devoted fan. This was his best book yet. His writing style is easy to read and he seems to make what he does sound so simple and easy for him. He has changed my perspective on life and the AFTER life. He's trully gifted and makes me happy whenever I read his books. His insights have helped me and my family in many ways. Get ready to shed some tears with this one!

Review: John Edward is not a fake! The amazon site is not supposed to be a bashing of the authors, but rather a site for critiquing books. I hope in the future, people will stick to this idea. Re:After Life the book: John Edward presents a wonderful book with many intersting insights written clearly and concisely. He is a gifted writer who is able to convey his ideas to all the readers in a manner that is simple yet detailed. I highly recommmend this book and hope that others will open their eyes to the insights of John Edward. As an aside: John Edward readily admits that his name is John Edward McGee and that he chose not to use his father's last name when he became famous. His life is an open book, and I can attest to his abilities from a live reading I witnessed. There were no tricks or editing tools for the live reading. The details he gives are astounding and very truthful. He is someone we can all learn from, whether we believe in his abilities or not.

Review: John Edward is truly a gift from God. This book gives us an honest insight into the life of a man who is just like you and me, except he has a gift from God that no one who either watches the show or has read the other books can question. I highly recommend this book because it gives us a peek inside his world and just further brings him closer to us as a true friend to all. Thank you John for having the courage to do what you do - you have helped more people with your quiet, yet firm style and your true caring for everyone who needs to hear your message.
