Rating: Summary: Edward Is Outstanding Review: Another outstanding work by John Edward!. An avid reader of the afterlife I can not praise this work enough. I have read works by Sylvia Browne and many others including the Book of Thomas mentioned in an earlier post written by an unknown Author and a Medium Co-Author which frankly made no sense. John's book defines the truth about the afterlife, whereas many others seem to be fiction. I give John much praise, keep it up! Derek, NY

Rating: Summary: After Life has some wonderful answers Review: I am so thankful for the books and the wonderful work that John Edward has done over the years. He has given many wonderful answers to the many questions that we have had. Hearing and reading has given hope, faith, and answers to the experiances that I and my daughter have had over the years. I know that my love ones are still very much a part of our lives. God has blessed us with many things. I am truly blessed and thankful to have more answers. Thank you again for your work. It has truly helped. May God continue to bless you and your work.

Rating: Summary: A good read and food for thought Review: I enjoyed this book very much. It is a good read and food for thought. I have seen John Edward on Larry King several times and even Larry King, a professed agnostic, as am I, admits to being impressed with him. There are good stories and insights in this book. As an agnostic, I don't believe or disbelieve, but I KEEP AN OPEN MIND. I read a review here by a skeptic who is passionately closed-minded on the topic. How sad.
Rating: Summary: Interesting theories Review: I found the book a quick and easy read. Nothing profound. What I came away with was his interesting proposition that not only are we becomming more and more aware of the Other Side but we are accepting communication with it. What we once thought of as remarkable is becoming unremarkable. Perhaps this mind set will enable us to re-think death (or our fear of it). A good book. It got me thinking about and then talking to my best friend who passed over three years ago. It will be interesting to see if she hears and answers....
Rating: Summary: Disappointing At Best Review: I found this book disappointing at best. Somehow reading this book I got the feeling that this was the same old same old rehashed. I can't think of a thing I learnt from it, nor was it very entertaining. So what's the point to reading it? I hope that John is not taking his que from Sylvia Brown & trying to mass produce books for the buck. I would much rather read one good quality book from someone in this field once a year than three books of fluff. I am giving him 2 starts for somewhat of an effort.
Rating: Summary: Comfort within After Life's pages Review: I have found great comfort within the pages of After Life. I was skeptic when I saw Mr. Edward's show and heard all of the hype about him...then my father passed away. A friend of mine managed to get tickets to one of his seminars and we went. As soon as I stood in line and started talking to others I started to feel at ease. As time passed and we were let into the seminar and then Mr. Edward started to interact with the audience I felt more and more comfort. I was one of the lucky one's and my father came through during the seminar and I thought how ironic it was that here I was not believing in this before that day and just like the snap of fingers my whole outlook changed. You can call Mr. Edward a fake or anything else you want but I know the truth first hand. I know Mr. Edward has a gift and I was lucky enough to be touched by that gift. When I got home from the seminar I wanted to read anything and everything to do with Mr. Edward and I did, all of the books were good and I enjoyed them very much. Many months after my reading with Mr. Edward I was strolling the isles of my local bookstore and ran across After Life...this book is better then the others. I love the personal stories and this book has plenty of them. Most of all I love his honesty...when Mr. Edward writes it comes from the heart and you can tell that is exactly where this book comes from, the heart. This book touched my heart just like everything else Mr. Edward's has put out.
Rating: Summary: Putting faith in After Life Review: I have read each and every review on this book and took everyone's words into consideration. I just finished the book myself and have to say I truly enjoyed it. Some of the reviews on this site attack Mr. Edward as a medium and as a person and it is clear that those reviews are by people who have not picked up the book (although they claim to have read the book in one sitting). This book took me through the process and helped me have a little more faith in people, life and the after life. After Life has something for everyone from the reading with Aaliyah's mother (which is an amazing chapter in my opinion as I was and still am a huge Aaliyah fan) to personal stories of Mr. Edward's family. I have been to seminars, watched the show, seen t.v. specials, gone to his offical website and read articles about Mr. Edward and his work but nothing brings you closer to his gift then this book! Everyone has an opinion and the right to voice it but my advise to those who sit here and bash Mr. Edward and his line of work...DON'T HOLD SUCH STRONG OPINIONS ABOUT THINGS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! Everyone in this world should be able to put thier faith into something or someone and after reading AFTER LIFE I know where my faith is placed. Love Mr. Edward or hate him, After Life is a wonderful book and can help anyone through the healing process...all you need is a little faith and an open mind.
Rating: Summary: Very Comforting Review: I have read several of John's books and yes while they are written with the same style and many times with repeated stories, they are still good and worth reading. I recently lost my mother and this book was of great comfort to me. John discusses how he knew his mother was present with him for big events in his life and how he knew. This brought me great comfort because I am 29 years old, not married and without children. It made me feel good to know that my mom can still see future events in my life that I wish she could be alive for. Like another reviewer mentioned, it's like sitting down with him and listening to his stories.
Although he seems to get a bit too detailed about some things that won't interest the average reader, like what else was going on at the time that was unrelated. It seems to stretch the book out a bit and would be probably be better left unsaid. In all, I have recommended this book to my friends and even tried getting my father to read it (nonbeliever). I still highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost someone they love dearly. When someone you love dies, there is little comfort in anything. Yet I can honestly say I found comfort in John's book and it helps to let me know that my mom is with me.
