Rating: Summary: Life's Greatest Lesson Review: I absolutely love the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. People say that there are usually 1 or 2 books that will change your life forever. I would have to say that this is the book. The plot is simple. It is a journey of a strong and powerful friendship between to adult men, Morrie and Mitch. There are three major reasons why I love this book. The first is probably that it's a really inspirational book. Morrie's battle with ALS makes any problem I've ever gone through seem so small and not important. His positive attitude makes me want to try harder at the things I do and want to appreciate life more. I also like the book a lot because it shows that friendships can last through the ages even when you don't speak to someone for a decade and a half. Morrie and Mitch are a good example that if the relationship has a strong base, that it is bound to survive almost anything, from graduating college and moving on with life, to battling the life altering ALS. The third reason I love this book is the simple fact that it is a heartwarming story that will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. It makes you want to pick up the phone and call that good ole friend that you haven't talked to in awhile and it makes you want to show the people closest to you how much you care about them. I strongly suggest that you read this book, it is a classic and I truely think it will have a great effect on you.
Rating: Summary: A Friend, a Advice Giver, and A Teacher. All in One Review: Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life's Greatest Lesson by: Mitch Albom. Is a really great book for anyone that is looking for something that can help him or her through life when it gets hard. Tuesday's with Morrie starts off as a teacher who watches his student Mitch through college and then Mitch watches his teacher struggle through a life threatening dieses. I rated this book a five out of five because I think it is a book that every person it the world should read some time in his or her life. It helps you get a view on how much life is good, how some people waste their lives, and how people can enjoy the time they have on Earth. I thought that it helps me understand that death isn't a bad thing, but a good thing especially if you have lived the life that you wanted to. It helps people understand that death isn't always a bad things and good things can come from it. It helps you understand how important life is to us. When Morrie was dying he explained why we should do what we dream of doing and make sure we get a chance to do things that we want to before we are on our death bed. I think that live was given to us to live it the way we want to and not the way others want us to live it. This also goes along with the first reason but we should be able to enjoy what we like doing on Earth. Even if it means you have to be in a bed to enjoy it. Other people shouldn't take that right away from you. You are you and that is the only person that can boss you around. Some people on this planet that we call Earth. They just want to screw up their lives and in the book Morrie does a good job of doing that. But I will let you read it and not spoil it. They want to waste themselves with using things and not doing anything with there lives. These are all reasons why I think this book should be read by everyone in the world.
Rating: Summary: Learn about life Review: This is a wonderful book. This book makes us realize many issues in life that we do not have time to think about. It has many explanations on why people do what the society do. It also teaches us to think about things that we don't normally think about such as dealing with dying and death.
Rating: Summary: A great book about what should matter in life! Review: Tuesdays with Morrie is an excellent book that covers various topics that everyone experiences in life. It makes the reality of death apparent but in a way that most of us don't think about on a daily basis. The book tells us so many important things about life. It shows us what we take for granted and how the things that we make high priorities don't really matter when it comes to the end. The most important thing to get out of the book is that in order to live a rewarding life, you have to be able to give and accept love. When there is no love involved in a person's life, there is really nothing to live for. There is no amount of money or any particular item that can possibly substitute the love that you share with someone close. It is a great book that makes you think about what exactly is going on in your own life and if that will be something beneficial or something that is just kind of passing the time away for no good reason. Everyone should read this book at least once!
Rating: Summary: Tuesdays with Morrie Review: I loved this book. It made me laugh. It made me cry. It made me think about those things in life that sometimes easily pass us by. A very easy read and one to share with a friend!
Rating: Summary: Too much of what you'd expect Review: A touching portrait of a dying man's wish to impart to others those things in life we would be better to focus on. Although there is no denying the essence of what Morrie has to say, I do believe the age of the reader will greatly influence the degree to which this book will be of significance. I also found the author's tendency to repeatedly describe the various physical problems overly detailed, although some will find Morrie's candor humorous. The subject matter alone makes for a poignant read, though, and the style is such that it doesn't get overly maudlin. I would especially recommend it for younger readers who are still caught up in the pressures of making a career and trying to find out what it takes to be happy.
Rating: Summary: Very Inspiring! Review: I loved this book the first time I read it. When I was diagnosed as a terminaly ill cancer patient I read it again because I needed another dose of Morrie's attitude in my life! I recommend this book to everyone. I did learn life's greatest lesson from Morrie. The lesson I use the most is not to let myself feel sorry and sad for myself. I'm lucky to be alive!
Rating: Summary: A lesson in life Review: This is such a great book to read. Morrie indeed taught me many things. This book motivated me to live life to the fullest. This book makes us think about how our lives really are. And the thing we do that we think will make us happy. This book made me think how we take everyone and everything for granted. For example, our lives are always busy and we never get a chance to show any appriciation towards people we love.
