Summary: I started reading it on a Tuesday and couldn't put it down!
Review: This is a wonderful book. You can't help but fall in love with Morrie. Not only is he a teacher and coach to Mitch Albom, but to the reader as well. Not since I read, "Where the Red Fern Grows" in sixth grade has a book moved me to tears. Morrie's last class is one every student of life should take.

Summary: Entering 9th grade and thought this was very enlightening!!!
Review: I'm entering high school and was told that I had to read this book. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't stop. I tried to compare what Morrie said to what I was doing and feeling in my own life, wanting to be like how he thought people should be but realizing that I wasn't. I am now trying to change in some ways. After reading a very informative part I would sometimes set the book down and contemplate about the part and try to absorb the fool meaning of the part. I would recommend this book to anyone in 8th grade or above. It is something that everybody should read.

Summary: I could relate to both of these men. The young and the old
Review: I am always looking for a book like this . One that I am sure I will read over and over again. It is a real keeper. I am glad I purchased this book instead of borrowing it from the library. I want my family to read it also. It contains the wisdom that only a compassinate person of many years could vision and know by living. It is one of the best books that I have read in quite a while.

Summary: An Utterly Uplifting Book!!
Review: This book is almost a privilege to read. It is an opportunity to learn about life and values from a most kind and wise teacher at the end of his life. The thoughts and reflections offered by Morrie should be read by all; what a special opportunity to absorb the wisdom of a most wise and kind teacher, who can instruct us all in what is important about living.

Summary: Melancholy, contemplative and wonderfully written.
Review: This book made me laugh out loud and weep openly during my NY subway commute. It is a thought-provoking tribute to the aged that helps the reader realize the human heroes we may encounter daily, and how important it is to appreciate them before they are taken from our lives. It makes a wonderful gift.

Summary: Eye Opening
Review: This book was so touching and precious. Morrie's outlook on life while going through the stages of dying is a must read for anyone who wants to better understand what we're all here to accomplish. Seeing dying as a part of life and the experiences we all encounter while here on earth is not a subject we discuss everyday in this culture. Excellent learning experience!

Summary: It was an inspiration not only to those of us with ALS .
Review: Mitch Albom obviously had an exceptional relationship with Morey. For a mensch to feel so strongly about another mensch..not a family member or lifelong friend... is commendable and to be able to write about it so touchingly is a great gift. I felt like crying several times but didn't except at the end because the book brought you back before you could or would cry and readied you for the next scenario. The writer obviously grasped each change Morey was going through with this horrible disease and absorbed the pain Morey was feeling as if it was his own. He spent quality time with the man and was able to absorb Morey's feelings about not only the disease but also life and the pursuit of same.

I am so impressed with a book that deals with a disease and reinforces my hope and dreams that human nature and concern for our fellow men still exists.

About my crying at the end. I'm curious if people without ALS cry at the end. You see, I have ALS and I know why I c! ried. I cried because the author made me see where I am headed. While I haven't been really scared I do have apprehensions but then aren't we all headed to the same place I am but perhaps in a different way - don't we all have apprehensions. Wonderful book! Hope they find a cure!

Summary: Provides more advise about living than dying
Review: After both my parents were killed in a car accident last month, I found this book in my dad's room and began reading it cautiously, fearing it would be way too depressive. It's not. Morrie's advise is about living, not dying. He speaks about loving and sharing and making life more worthwhile, despite everything. It's a book about reaching out and about accepting help, and is actually helpful to me in the midst of my grief.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read this book. Could change your life.
Review: Learn how to live through the lessons presented by a dying man. Don't let fear block your emotions. I was skeptical about learning anything I had not already figured out in life. Step back, go with it, experience and enhance your life and the lives of everyone you meet just by being as human as you can be. Imagine all the people living for today.
