Rating: Summary: `Active`Meditation Review: ACTIVE MEDITATION.Have been breathing now with The Healing Art of Conscious Breathing CD three to four times weekly, for five months or so. In the last week have had a couple of breath/energy encounters. In these my body starts tingling usually around the left thigh and this sensation (usually after an hour breathing level two and with top-ups of three) suddenly suffuses my whole being...a very powerful and exhilarating sensation. In this my senses are sharply focussed, the body vibrating . Following the last one, just before I turned on my side, breathing as Leonard Orr advises-.four shorts and one long.-and I was thrilled to be able to continue the sensation with the same intensity for several more minutes. This I feel demonstrates that the object of the exercise would be to learn to ultimately access this state naturally, a very exciting and powerful proposition. When I did relax on my side the words of the song...`Islands in the Stream' popped into consciousness. This brought the idea that the breath is like a cosmic stream; flowing by without us ever noticing it, that is, for those of us who never meditate. When I fell asleep I dreamt of being in bed with a Black woman with a vibrator, from which came the image of the vibration of breath rubbing against the body's electrical field, of head and body (spirit and soul) being `re-fused' together. In my view the CD opens up the meditative process in a way which is eminently pragmatic. In conjunction with it I am reading and listening to Thic Nhat Hahn, and his wonderfully creative approach to emotional intelligence. As a shrink I encourage clients interested in the CD to do likewise, since his `Art of Mindful Living' would be the goal of why work with the CD in the first place.

Rating: Summary: Healing through conscious breathing Review: John Meneghini's The Healing Art Conscious Breathing, has helped me tremendously,as a musician and singer, I have gained great insight into the rhythm and balance of breath as a meditative tool for creation. I suffered a stroke a few years back and it was the catalyst for my return to a full and productive life. Try It!
Rating: Summary: Great Breathwork CD Review: John's CD can be used by itself, or as a useful adjunct to someone who already has a breathwork practice. I have found it beneficial in jump-starting a practice I began a few years back. Thank you John for this wonderful tool.
Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended Review: Reviewer: craig b As someone totally new to the concept of conscious breathing, this CD by Sadhana Concepts has been a truly amazing experience. For once here is a product for which both the claims and even disclaimer are totally justified. The effects on the body do remind me of those 15km runs through the forest and that was after only a 20min session! It is a CD I already cherish and I am confident the process described, and have already begun, will continue to develop.
Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended! Review: This is a very useful resource for those who are interested in pursuing conscious breathing as a method of healing. The introduction is both informative and interesting. The tracks include several levels of breathing sounds. You hear breathing which, importantly, is paced to help the efficacy of your breath work. I have found in my experience that it's easy to lose track of an even paced breath when breathing alone. This cd is extremely helpful with keeping my breath "on track." I am grateful to own a copy of this work as I plan on continuing to use it for myself and with my friends who wish to experience conscious breathing.

Rating: Summary: Good breathing! Review: This is the best breathing CD I have yet come across. I have used many others in my private practice and for myself but this one is head and shoulders above the rest.
