Rating: Summary: Excellent tips, not so good on the practice Review: I've used this book in preparing for the MCAT, two things: 1) book is certainly worth reading, Bresnick gives many excellent pointers on speed reading and analyzing the passage 2) the passages at the end of the book are OK, but are not really representative and tend to be a little easier than the real MCAT. But, despite some of the minor flaws the book is certainly worth getting.
Rating: Summary: not too bad Review: if you're like me and need some extra practice on verbal reasoning then i would definitely recommend this book. it's not too expensive and it has 3 full length tests plus some other tips to boost your score. i mainly bought it for taking the practice tests and found that tips for reading speed are fairly ineffective. you can either read quickly with absorbtion or you can't. i found that the tests are pretty close to real mcat passages but maybe a bit easier.
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: This is book is very good for practicing passages that capture the ambiguous feeling of the mcat. The question stems are shorter thatn the actual one but the practice is excellent. Not to mention the price! Very good practice for the verbal section overall... PS don't follow their strategies though... !
