Review: The second volume of Bock's massive work on Luke. The format is brilliant. These two volumes will keep you busy in Luke's gospel for a long time. Look for Bock's commentary on Acts in this same series, due sometime in 2006.

Review: This commentary is the third one written on Luke by the same author. It focuses on contemperary application of Luke's message. One might need another (more detailed) commentary to determine the original meaning of the text. Those with necessary training in the Biblical Greek should consult his two-volume commentary published by Baker.

Review: This monumental work on Luke by Darrell Bock is definitely worth having. The format of this series is very well done and helpful. Bock has provided us with one of the most thorough works on this gospel. Technical, yet lucid. Tremendous background information. Much synoptic interaction. A veritable feast of Greek helps. Critical interaction, including direct interaction with the "Jesus Seminar" at many points. These volumes are worth the price and will provide you with a wealth of information on Luke's gospel.
