Summary: Good for me but....
Review: English - English dictionary is useful for English leaners.
(especially don't use English)
I bought it last year because one of my friends recommended it.
I wanted to buy "Cambridge" dictionary but he said that
the words of in "Cambridge" is difficult.
So if I want to find some words, I have to find another words.
The words of "longman dictionary" consist of 2,000words.
So you don't have to find another words.
And I can see some cultural and social background of America.
(Even famous actor, singer).
In p.785~804, I could know about 'Colours and their Associations',
'American life of each decades', 'Education', 'Festivals and Special Days',
'Government', 'Holidays', 'Law', 'Pubs', 'Shakespear's Plays',
'Wedding' It is useful for me but for advanced leaners,
it may not so good because explanation of word is not specific.^^

Review: In 1568 thin pages, it combines a full coverage of American and British English with the cultural information you need to understand references to people, places, and events in newspapers, in literature, on TV and in films, as well as in general conversations.
Very good for teachers, students (better in Upper Intermediate or Advanced levels) and cultured people in general.

Review: In 1568 thin pages, this English-English book combines a full coverage of American and British English with the cultural information you need to understand references to people, places, and events in newspapers, in literature, on TV and in films, as well as in general conversations.
Very good for teachers, students (better in Upper Intermediate or Advanced levels) and cultured people in general.
There is a new 2002 edition that you can find in Amazon (Longman Dictionary of English Language an Culture).
