Summary: Speaking Korean
Review: "Speaking Korean" consists of 4 vols sofar and it is a most complete text book for Korean language students who speak Englisn. You can master the Korean language with this textbook.
It adpts a new language teaching method with many drills and practical examples of sentences. Highly recommended for college students and adult learners.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the few well-done texts on Korean
Review: I purchased this three-volume set when I lived in Korea. I have found them to be indespensible for both studying and reference. If you are just a student, or even if you already speak fairly well, you will find this an excellent source.

The book has clear explanations of language fundamentals, good examples, and worthwhile exercises. Out of all the Korean texts I've seen, the Speaking Korean set is the only one that I recommend fully.

But as with any foreign language textbook, you will get more out of it if you have access to a native speaker who can help when needed.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: There are better books available
Review: The "Speaking Korean" series has a good first book. However the second book is lacking. This particular volume in the series is filled with completely useless vocabulary, and also contains grammer that is very rarely used. The book is ten years old and needs to be revised. Also, the english explanations are poorly written, and the examples in this particular book are somewhat lacking. This may have been the best book available 10 years ago. But the Korean Language changes very quickly, and some parts of the book are not often used anymore. I give "Speaking Korean Volume 2" 2 stars because of the reasons I already stated and due to the availability of other, better texts.
