Summary: Good general-purpose French-only dictionary
Review: This is what we'd call a "collegiate" dictionary, intended for high school students (lyceens). As such, it's probably the best choice for most everyday French reading. The definitions are clear and concise, and coverage of current colloquialisms and idiomatic expressions seems good. The one quirk with this is that the color "encyclopedia"-type inserts seem to be randomly arranged, with no connection to nearby dictionary entries. This kind of limits their use as references. Note: this is a French-only dictionary; i.e. all the definitions and descriptions are in French. Look elsewhere for a French-English dictionary!
