Rating: Summary: Ledbetter's work Review: I am a new up and coming english teacher for some reason Amazon refused to let me wright this is in the regular review. So inturn I chose this, Ledbetter's books are an extreme help to me in the class room. To find out that children in the eight grade can pour soul's out and make it sound like an adult is a amazing I am in the process of trying to get my kids to be like that. Thank you Mrs. Ledbetter for all the help. P.S. ad 20 to the age it made me put under 12
Rating: Summary: Great for Middle Schoolers Review: I bought this book but was never able to use it. Frankly, the activities are too immature for grades 10-12. I feel that it is more appropriate for middle schoolers, immature 9th graders or younger students needing enrichment. Sure, I could have altered these activities to suit my students, but then what is the use of buying a book of reproductables, at that price, if you can't reproduce them as is?
Rating: Summary: Some Good Ideas Review: This book has some usable ideas, but I found it difficult to envision adapting it to MY situation as a 7th and 8th grade English teacher. It sat, unused on my shelf for over a year. Having just taken an eight hour training from Ledbetter, I now have a clearer picture of what she does than I was able to glean from her book. This volume is a collection of activities and aproaches from her practice, and not a complete"writing curriculum," as the cover suggests. If you want some ideas, it is a good but expensive place to graze.
