Review: I found this book quite helpful as a quick overview of German politics since 1945. Although this book is a dictionary, it is enjoyable to simply page through it randomly and read whatever entries interest you. This book will allow you to get a basic framwork of German politics on which you can hang new knowledge as you do further reading on Germany. Without wading through abstruse tomes you will be able to get an idea of what such heady topics as the "Historikerstreit" are about. This book is ideal for an advanced student of German and a must for students going abroad to a German university or exchange program. This book is not for those looking for a culture guide in the sense of info on art, cities and architecture.
