Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The BIology Problem Solver
Review: A well organized review material for undergrad levelled general biology. Different from heavy volumed, too broadly covered other biology textbooks, this book focuses on important topics and guides from easy questions to challenged ones. Especially, for the biological functional aspects, this book allows lot of portion and makes it more efficient to get high scores in exams. I studied this book with Campbell's Biology (4th ed.) to prepare GRE Subject test and got over 95% score two years ago.

Highly recommendable biology book to summarize overall course works and prepare for any undergrad level-biology exams. The only drawback of this book is the relatively weak coverage of modern molecular biology section.

Summary: A Must For Every Biology Student
Review: For the buck, the best aid that you'll get in studying biology. Books like Campbell are good, but they cost over twice as much, and don't tell you as much. The Biology Problem Solver basically covers every bit about Biology, in a very organized fashion. It's question and answer format helps direct one's queries and thoughts. Sections that I find particularly interesting, like on ecology and invertebrates, I learned a good deal more about. Sections I find less interesting, like cellular and molecular biology, were illuminating and very easy to understand. I have particularly enjoyed the evolutionary diagrams and taxonomic lists at the end of the text. When I needed to study in undergrad, this book was invaluable, and the sample tests at the end helped to amply prepare me. Today when I have a question about Biology, I turn to this text first for in-depth coverage.
