Summary: Dreadful
Review: I read this book as part of my A-Level Spanish course under the title "El muerto de un campesino Espanol". Before you start attacking my review, please note that I got full my for the Spanish literature paper. This novel was, essentially, uninteresting. It is not a novel view of the Spanish Civil War. It is not a novel view of the relationship between priests and the people. It does present an almost interesting view of Mosen Millan's conscience (when he reacts to the acolyte sing the song about Paco). Unfortunately, however, the book's good points end here. I was one of the few people in my class to have read the novel all the way through. I think they were probably the sensible ones.

Summary: A Novel Approach to the Spanish Civil War
Review: Mosen Millan is a wonderful novel about a young man's tragic circumstances during the Spanish Civil War. Thought-provoking and very well written, it plainly and clearly discloses the horrors of this conflict in Europe's history. Not a beach novel, however! Be prepared to break out your Spanish dictionary when attempting to read this novel!
