New Penguin Dictionary of Geology (Penguin Reference Books)

Summary: An excellent all round glossary of geological terms.
Review: This new edition seems to be both a step forwards and a step backwards, at the same time. The list of terms that are explained is exhaustive. In that sense it is an improvement on the earlier edition. Many geographic terms that are relevant to geology have been included for the first time. However, all the diagrams have been omitted (due to space / price constraints?), and if a picture can paint a thousand words...... Overall though an essential text for any student of geology worth their (rock) salt!!
