Kiswahili Kwa Kitendo: An Introductory Course

Review: As far as introductory language texts go, Kiswahili Kwa Kitendo is excellent for a class or for self-study. Each chapter is one or two pages long, but presents the material in a comprehensible manner. After the first ten chapters, the student already has a solid grasp on basic conversation!

Grammatically, the book requires a little bit of interpretation--or a glance to the end of the chapter where more in-depth explanations discuss negation, infinitive verbs, etc. The vocabulary is presented at a slow pace, along with excerpts and quizzes, which aid in quickly mastering the Swahili language.

There is very little material available on the Swahili language, but this is a course that is worth the time investment!
