Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fundamentals of Engineering by Olia PhD et al.
Review: A strength of this book is that it provides a diagnostic test
in each subject area followed by an exhaustive problem set. The solution set is explained exhaustively. The text provides a fair coverage of exam content. i.e. Chemistry, Computer Programming, Dynamics, Electric Circuits, Engineering Economics, Ethics, Fluids,Material Science and Structure of Matter, Mathematics including ( Intermediate Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra and Probability/Statistics with some College Algebra), Mechanics of Materials, Statics and Thermodynamics. There are important practice exams at the end of the review book.
I would supplement this work with the FIT Review by Potter.
In addition, it is important to become thoroughly familiar with
the Engineering Supplied Reference disseminated on the exam.
Sometimes exact questions may come up straight out of the
Engineering Supplied Reference. On the exam itself, it is more
important to work out solutions correctly as opposed to rushing
the exam in order to finish each question. Accuracy counts!
Complete the subject areas you've mastered first and then
go back and work problems in areas of unfamiliarity. In this way,
you will maximize the number of correct responses.

Summary: One star is too generous...this book is garbage.
Review: Books does not conform with the NCEES manual, has tons of errors in the text and in the sample problems (confirmed by many, see other reviews), and needs to be re-formatted to follow a logical sequence instead of topics in alphabetical order.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not a good primary review book
Review: The true appeal of this book is its size. It would be nice to think that all you need to know is in such a manageable book, and not some unwieldy tome. Yet, this book falls far short of "all you need to know". The review is not complete. A sufficient amount of knowledge is assumed. This can be a real nightmare for someone out school for a while (me!). Furthermore, this book doesn't follow the sequence of the NCEES review manual. Not only that, it doesn't even bother to use the equations in the same format that NCEES provides them. I found the key to passing the FE was being intimately familiar with NCEES reference material, so that formulas can be QUICKLY located on exam day. This book does not facilitate the process. I know this book's size is very appealing, but don't be fooled. It doesn't make it as a primary review source, particularly if you've been away from the material for a while.
