Rating: Summary: Great practice problems! Review: This book contains some of the best practice problems I have seen to prepare you for the exam. The solutions to the problems are the only thing that keeps this text from being the best text available for preparing a person for the exam. The solutions use equations or make assumptions without reference to where they came from. In some cases the solutions are not technically correct (i.e. see solutions to problems 8-1 and SEP 10-9). As long as you have other texts or good notes from your courses, this book is great if your looking for tough problems to prepare you.
Rating: Summary: Plenty of problems, very poor solutions Review: This manual has a variety of questions on each subject, however the solutions are sometimes confusing. Variables are given, but are not defined. Steps and conversions are skipped. Sometimes answers are actually given as "The correct answer is (b)" and thats it, no reason why.I also don't think the manual has been adequately updated to the new breadth and depth format of the PE exam. There are several example that ask you to draw something or write an explaination. The new PE format is multiple choice. I think the CERM (Civil Engineering Reference Manual) is the best bet.
