Summary: Great learning resource for Medical Transcription!
Review: I had this book for a college course in medical transcription. It is very informative. The only thing, is that it doesn't come with dictations for you to transcribe. If you need this book for a college course then your instructor will have the dictations for you to do. (This book is a student edition) I think you would have to have the instructor book in order to obtain the dictations. This book DOES have many sample reports in specialty areas though, and it teaches you proper format etc... in an easy to learn manner. It also touches on medical terminology and lists many medical terms and definitions. There are also practices to test your learning skills. These tests are in the books though, the book comes with NO disk or cd-rom. However, I learned a lot from it, and would definetly recommend it to someone who is interested in becomming a medical transcriptionist.
