Summary: Hey, if it can get MY kids interested, it must be good!
Review: I am currently using this book with my special ed Juniors. They initially were (as usual) unreceptive, but are actually getting into it now. Most of my kids won't go to college and won't need to be able to conjugate verbs or locate the object of the preposition, but they will need to fill out applications, search want ads and read prescription medication. I love this book and really like the areas that allow them to look into things in their own lives (local newspaper, magazines, etc.) for a more practical handle on learning. These kids need to know how it will effect their lives before they are willing to put forth any effort. This book does just that!
