Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A really good book for content area teachers! Review: This book was written for teachers of science, social studies, or math and includes the how and why of incorporating reading and writing into your curriculum. The authors convincingly make the arguement that reading and writing is something that all teachers should include in their classroom, not just the language arts or reading teachers. They back up their arguement with many strategies to improve the students' reading in your class before, during, and after the reading has occurred. I hate all philosophy-no practicality education books. This one passes my test as an easily usable book that will be used often in my class. I am now eager to start the new year, because I want to try several of the strategies mentioned in this book. Do yourself, your school, your colleagues, and your students a favor: buy this book, read it, then share the book with other teachers.
