Summary: Thought Provoking Reading
Review: While this book of short stories was originally required reading for a college literature class, I found the stories so compelling and thought provoking that I kept the book and continue to reread the stories today. I find many of them bring about interesting topic conversation among friends and fellow scholars. Some of the topics, such as Sandra Bem's piece on female inequality in our androcentric society and such controversial topics as the male predisposition to rape as well as Stephen Gould's piece discussing biological determinism vs. biological potentiality are so enthralling that they seem to be on everybody's mind. All of the stories provide a solid base for any controversial dispute or conversation. I highly reccomend this book for college students as well as anyone who is interested in short stories with controversial and thought provoking views.
