Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good dialect dictionary of the Iraqi dialect
Review: Like all similar dictionaries, this is a dialect dictionary and is a guide to the vocabulary of the informal spoken language, not the written language. If you need a guide to the written language, buy Hans Wehr's Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic instead. Dialect dictionaries are normally written in romanized form, as the Arabic script is of little use for pronunciation, especially where vowel qualities and stress are concerned.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: excellent - for linguists, too.
Review: Spoken Iraqi dialect is never written. Written Arabic is actually a different language, a scholastic artifact. Buy this book if you are working through a colloquial course or building vocabulary lists for specialized work with real Iraqis. Information not found ANYWHERE else.

Summary: Arabic script please!
Review: When using this dictionary to assist me in translating some Iraqi Arabic to English I found it harder to use because it is romanized, than if they had used the Arabic script. Transliterating what I was reading into latin script so I could try and use words in this dictionary made things more difficult, rather than easier. I don't recommend it.
