Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Pretty Good look at Extrication Review: This book is a good look at extrication. I was impressed at the quality of information in this book. The book is not very big, at about 190 pages of information, but every page can prove useful on the emergency scene.Passenger vehicle, bus, truck, railcar, industrial and other specialized rescue sitiations are dealt with. Extrications equipment and concerns are all dealt with. Safety has always been a concern expressed by IFSTA and there is an appropriate area where scene safety is discussed. My only real concern with this book is that the previous edition was twice the size of this book. What kind of information was lost? I've never read the onler edition so I have no way of knowing at the time of this review. another concern is that there is no in depth information. The information in this books is core level stuff which all rescue personel must know before even attempting any type of extrication. I think this book would also be good for paramedics, police officers and other personnel that would potentially be involved in a rescue/extrication so they could understand the process adn be able to work more closely with extrication personnel. There is no question all firefighters need to know this book front to back.
