Rating: Summary: A MUST HAVE! Review: for a first edition, this book does have some errors but it is by far the best thing out there right now ... excellent diagrams, great figures, and phenomenal systems-based approach to the boards ...a must buy for the individual who wants to do well on the boards!!!!

Rating: Summary: not too shabby Review: Gotta say, i've used several review book for the boards, and this one certainly has good stuff. easy to use tables, graphs, and a compilation of all the important stuff from the other review books. not a bible like first aid, but a good, clean comprehensive review. helped me match ortho baby. good luck

Rating: Summary: Step Up to A terrific Step 1 Review Book Review: Terrific review book. It's in the body systems format and does a good job of integrating material, with the possible exception of pharm. Very useful for Step 1 study.
Rating: Summary: waste of money Review: This book is the first edition and is FULL of errors. I don't think anyone edited this book for accuracy. Stick with First Aid, by Bushan, et al. Its format may not be quite as appealing as Step up but it is extremely reliable. I also recommend Robbins Review of Pathology, it has a ton of clinical vignettes that are VERY much like the ones I saw on the USMLE.
Rating: Summary: Second year Medical Student Review: This is an excellent USMLE review book. The authors use a lot of easy to understand diagrams with outline format text. This book is exclusivly high-yeild information. Important points are 'punched out' and written in the margins and there are large, easy to study tables for pharmacology and microbiology. I would recomend this book to anyone who needs a short, easy to follow review for the USMLE I.
