Review: This is definitely not a boring but a very substantial book: Broad literature, well organized, convincingly argued... Highly recommend to students. It needs an update, that's true, but still very valuable.

Review: This was a very boring book. I am a communications and linguistics major so I have read some bad books. But I must say this one takes the cake. I would not recommend this book for use in the classroom.
