Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Useful and Interesting: I liked it!!!
Review: I have just finished reading this book as an M.A. student who needed an introduction to Discourse Analysis. It is broken into 3 sections: Preliminaries, Approaches, and Applications. The "Approaches" section breaks Discourse Analysis into categories and outlines them succinctly. Then, in "Applications", Cameron "demystifies" research (her word) in the field of D.A., and shows how to apply the approaches. She includes examples of projects by her former students and how they were executed. I found those examples comforting and helpful. I give Deborah Cameron 5 stars for this book because it was written exactly for me (a student who is new to D.A.) and it has helped me so much. I found it enjoyable to read, highly informative and accessible. Three cheers....
