Review: I am a French II student this year and I did very poorly in French I. I am using this book to help me review material from last year. This book has helped me a lot. It is a very helpful guide for those who have a foot hold in the language. Be warned though that you should have about a year to a year and a half of French. Many of the grammer and culture points are explained in French so one would need to be familiar with the language.

I think this is one of the best books for reviewing and refreshing. I don't know how well a person could actually learn the language out of this book. It teaches the material well but pronunciation without a teacher or audio tape could be chanlenging. If you don't have a French class I would recommend buying some tapes or CDs to go along with this book.

Review: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Intermediate French is great whether you need to brush up before your trip to France or if you are just now learning French in high school and need additional help. I am taking French II this fall and I used this book to help me remember what I learned last year and assisted me in preparing for the coming year.
