Summary: Waste of money and time
Review: I found this book to be completely useless. Having pictures for things I already knew was not helpful at all. The alphabetized list of nouns in the back was the only useful section of the book.

Summary: Only for Advanced Japanese language students...
Review: I really needed a Japanese language book that would increase my vocabulary. I've seen the German version of this book and was very pleased with it. However, I was dissappointed when I opened this book. There are certainly many objects and many areas covered (Some of the objects I've never seen before in my life)

I assume the majority of intermediate and basic japanese language students only know a handful of kanji compounds. This dictionary is absolutely LOADED with Kanji and what's bad is...it doesn't have furigana or romaji to tell you how to pronounce them. Therefore it somewhat defeats the purpose of assisting one's vocabulary growth when a regular text dictionary is more efficient. If you spend a lot of time on studying Kanji characters then this might be a helpful book for you.

It probably would have been a 100% useful book to me if they had included the Kanji with furigana or romaji. It seems like this book is straight out of a Japanese book store, and would benefit native Japanese speakers who learn English.

Summary: An Essential Resource to the Japanese Language Study Process
Review: The best dictionary ever published. The classification per subject make the searching much much easy. It's a revolutionary concept in its field. Once you use it, you will stick to it as a very essential handbook. It's very helpful. IT IS A MUST HAVE BOOK!!!
