Summary: Meta Given is the best cookbook ever
Review: My wife and I received Met Given's cook books, volumes I and II, as a wedding gift 35 years ago. We have used it extensively and it is obviously used. The binding is broken and pages are loose but it is all complete. We refer to it all the time. When we are stuck with a cooking question we go to "Meta" and there is the answer. We wouldn't sell it for the world.

Summary: Cant' live without Meta Given's Cookbook!
Review: Since 1953 I've carried this cookbook from house to house over 23 moves in nearly 50 years. It is in pretty good shape, held together by tape here and there. Considering I really hate to cook, it's so dependable I can experiment on guests, and be assured of success every time. What has helped me the most is the 365 day meal plans, when I couldn't think of what to serve my hungry family. I wish I could find some more copies for my daughters, because I can't part with mine yet. Let my daughter know if you come across any. emcp@mindspring.com Janet Clark, Melbourne, Florida and Chelton, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Review: The books I use were my grandmother's. She received them when she got married back in the 30's. They have the best recipes. The buttermilk pancakes are better than any mix. The possibilties are endless

Summary: Best Cookbook Ever
Review: This is a marvelous pair of cookbooks. Published in the mid-50's, I have used mine until the backs fell off. All 3 children want them, so I have to find more copies. These books have recipies in them that I've never seen elsewhere - especially ones for wild game, how to pickle & preserve, safe handling of foods, how to set a table (a lost art), and how to plan menus (another lost art). Recommend for anyone who enjoys cooking or collects cookbooks.
