Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT , FUNNY and EDUCATIONAL BOOK
Review: I saw this book in the movie "Lost In Translation" in the special feature section of the movie. Bill Murray uses it to translate some funny phrases, and some very comical scenes ensue. So I had to get it and learn some Japanese and let Me say it has some really hilarious phrases you can use on your friends, lovers or Japanese people that one may come in contact with. I've had so much fun with it and you will learn some Japanese with a very comedic edge. Enjoy!!!

Summary: funny, but very dated
Review: this book is a very entertaining offshoot for an otherwise dry language course or self-study. but be warned if you intend to actually use any of the slang- its quite dated (not to mention that most slang is colloquial). and in a culture where the lexicon changes as rapidly as japanese, you will be exposing yourself (pun partially intended) to whomever you speak with instantly. and by dated i mean late 80's or early 90's at best. check the mullet & mustache on the author's picture on the inside back cover!
