Rating: Summary: Literature and Language Review: My first experience with this book was when I was a substitute. The district I was subbing in was no longer going to use the text so I was given a copy to keep for resource in my own permanant class room. I find it great to use for my summer school class where we do not have specific texts to use. The kids like the stories. We have done Monsters are Due on Maple Street, Exploring the Titanic, and All Summer in a Day so far. I do wish I had some of the supplementary materials such as tests and worksheets. The listed price seems very expenisve to me where if I dealt with the textbook company I may get a better deal. I hope this helps...
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is an excellent text book for literature. However, these prices seem exhorbitant. Why not go to the McDougal Littell website at www.mcdougallittell.com and find the locator map to locate your local sales rep. I'm sure that as a textbook publisher they have not allowed these books to go out of print and you would not have to pay the amazon.com markup that you're paying here.
