Review: Italian Synonyms is the only such reference available for speakers of English. Under about 1000 Italian headwords are grouped related words and meanings with usage examples in Italian. What's more, the words are grouped by level of formality/informality to give the feel for how/when to use each word--something you can't get in even the best bilingual dictionaries. Valuable, practical, and comprehensive. Every serious English-speaking student of Italian should own this book.

Review: This book is heavy. As in it weighs a lot and is thick. 656 pages of synonyms. This looks like an excellent reference for building vocabulary. Definitely worth the money.

We Americans are lucky that there are such excellent Italian language books coming out of the UK.
