Rating: Summary: Save Your Money -- Borrow It Review: A book about scrapbooking must have pictures; at least, that's how I feel. One can learn about supplies, paper quality, etc. from a knowledgeable shop-person. Layouts on the other hand requite creativity, and sometimes you need to see a few to get an idea. Further, there aren't enough pictures of the techniques that the author tries to explain. In scrapbooking, a picture is worth 1000 words. I would recommend going to your library and looking through whatever they might have before choosing one or two scrapbooking books to buy.
Rating: Summary: Very broad - good for beginner scrapbooker Review: After having my first child, my husband and I took an obscene amount of pictures. We then would look at the pictures, laugh, and allow them to gather in the corner in a big pile. Once our daughter began sleeping through the night (whew!), I finally had an opportunity to organize all of these memories. This book was a lifesaver. I particulary liked the layout ideas. The author not only wonderfully provides several 'how to' sections, but also detailed examples to follow. For any first time 'scrapbooker', I would highly recommend this book.

Rating: Summary: Good Reference For Beginners Review: I am not new to scrapbooking, but thought I would like to have some books around for when I get "Scrappers Block".. this was the first one I chose. It's not much for pictures, but is filled with lots of practical knowledge. It fills you in on the differences between types of photo papers, adhessives, card stock, papers, and verious other things that are quite important to the look and longevity of your hard work. It is a bit dated, but the general information is a must for beginners.

Rating: Summary: Very broad - good for beginner scrapbooker Review: I bought this book and have read it cover to cover. It is a good book; however, it is very broad and covers a little bit of everything about scrapbooking. I've been scrapbooking for almost two years and really didn't come away with any more than I already knew. I was disappointed in it for myself, but am planning on sharing it with my mom who is just getting ready to get started. There really aren't many pictures and they are in black and white. More pictures, in color, would have added a bit more to the book.
Rating: Summary: Best Book For Beginners I Have Found. Review: I really like this book for beginners. Lately I have been giving scrapbooking start-up kits as gifts to friends and family, and have been including this book in the package. I would highly recommend this book!
