Summary: You need this book!
Review: Even if you are great at writing thank you notes, you can benefit from this book! You will be exhausted after your wedding, and this little book will ease your mind. It's great for getting ideas on how to write your thank you cards, with plenty of examples to page through and lots of advice on etiquette. I highly recommend this to any stressed-out bride.

Summary: Extremely useful!
Review: I highly recommend this book to any bride. It was very helpful in giving good examples of things to say when you can't think of anything appropriate. I had quite a few people comment on what nice and sincere thank you notes I sent. A must have.

Summary: Useful Advice and Etiquette; Cheesy wording suggestions
Review: I thought this book had good advice and tips on thank you note writing, but I found I really couldn't use any of the sample thank you notes. They sound so phony to me - and if someone sent me a thank you note borrowing their language, I would fall off my chair laughing. The book has notes something like: "we adore the salad bowl you gave us and have filled it with floating candles and put it on the table so we can enjoy it every day!" I trust that others have found this book useful (mine is the only bad review here so far) but it just misses the mark for me, overall.

Summary: Really helps to get you started
Review: I was so nervous and overwhelmed about having to write all the Thank You notes for my bridal shower gifts, especially to the older women in my family who I felt would have some kind of expectation of them. I found myself letting a whole week go by without even trying to write a single note. As usual, avoiding the situation didn't make it go away. This book really helped me to break the ice so that I felt I could be myself instead of sounding impersonal, too formal, or too informal. I read the whole thing in two nights, and have been referring to it as I go along. It provides a very simple structure for the notes that was easy to remember. I chose to write to those closest to me first because I was less concerned about sounding foolish to the people I talk to everyday! Even so, it took me well over an hour to get those first few written, but the practice was worth it. Since then I've been pushing through the rest of them at a steady pace, and am actually enjoying the experience of getting to thank everyone for their consideration! I only wish I knew about this book before I sent out the occasional Engagement Gift Thank You. I cringe to think what I wrote, although they probably weren't that bad (I hope). I highly recommend this book if you're feeling the same kind of "stage fright" I was. It can help to stop worrying about doing it "wrong". You may even find yourself with a pen in your hand!

Summary: Very helpful, highly recommended to any bride.
Review: It was very helpful in sending thank you notes to everyone who attended my wedding. I sent about 300 notes and after a while, I was running out of words to say and beginning to sound insincere. The book prevented those things from happening, and since my husband and I were driving cross-country at the time, the different postal stamps helped the notes be more endearing to the recipients. I highly recommend this book to any bride, especially to the ones who plan to have big weddings.

Summary: Life Saver
Review: The general outline of a thank you note and the list of adjectives to choose from were the best parts of this book. One note of wisdom - use a computer spreadsheet instead of the systems that the author suggests. It offered me a place to compose the notes, spell check them, then transpose them from the computer to the note cards. It also allows the writer to reuse text when needed and appropriate.

Summary: Great Resource for Brides!
Review: This book has been very useful in helping me write all the thank you notes I have been writing. Before I had this book I would get one line out and be stumped for 10 minutes before deciding the next line. This book not only breaks down what should be said in a standard thank you note, and when to say it, but it also offers various examples of thank you notes for specific gifts including gifts you actually don't like, and even offers examples for thanking the parents, Bridesmaids, and even the vendors, etc. for their help on your wedding day. The only drawback to this book is that sometimes the wording is too casual, and to be more formal you might want to rethink the actual words this book offers as examples. I still found it very useful though, since it sets the groundwork which used to be the part that took me the longest. Now I can write thank you notes much faster without having to regret, rethink and re-write what should be written.

Summary: A must-have for any bride!
Review: This book proved to be a great help in writing thank-you notes for my wedding. It helped me when I couldn't think of what to write and gave me several ways to avoid saying the same thing over and over. A great aid and made thank-you writing an easy and enjoyable task!

Summary: Useful Advice and Etiquette; Cheesy wording suggestions
Review: This slim 96 page volume offers some helpful advice but is coupled with unnecessary and outdated information. In the first 30 pages, the author addresses basic information such as who should write thank you notes, when they should be sent, and what kind of stationary to use. I'm assuming that most of today's brides would already have this knowledge, but for someone looking for very elementary assitance, this section could be useful. I found the fourth chapter, "General Outline," to be the most practical aspect of the book. In this chapter, the author provides a basic outline for all thank you notes and gives specific examples for each component; particularly helpful were the list of adjectives as well as the list of ways to describe how the gift will be used. Following this, the author answers some additional questions (eg, don't tell the giver when you receive a damaged gift), and then finally, the remainder of the book contains sample letters which are broken down into specific categories (monetary gift, thank yous to specific wedding participants, unusual gifts, etc.). Although somewhat repetitive, the letters did offer some additional useful ideas about writing notes. Overall, this book is a bit uneven in its utility, but given its low price, it would probably be a worthwhile investment for most brides.
