Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excelent start for socially challenged Review: Contrary to the other fellas I do find it very useful, specially for someone socially challenged. It gives clear examples off real life and definately good pointers. Even for the naturale social person I think this would be revealing because many of us just do things without even knowing how, and can't explain it. For some it's being social, for others it's solving physics problems, go figure. If you're one of those who has no clue as to how to start up a conversation and freeze instead, I do recommend it.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Worth looking at, understand what this book will help with Review: I picked up this book because I have a problem with conversations. I have difficulty talking to people if I don't know them very well. That's one problem, but the real reason I read this book was my other problem: thinking of things to say with people I do know. Larry King (the king of talking) addresses the first problem, but not the second. He gives tips and techniques about how to talk to strangers and how to speak in a business setting. This advice is valuable. There were tips that I found useful, but as a whole, this book did not address what I needed. Fortunately, this was an interesting book to read as King gives examples and illustrations from his own life and career. He explains things clearly and if I would have been reading this to help me converse with strangers, there would have been more value in reading this book. If you are thinking about reading this book for being able to converse with strangers, I would give this book a try. If you are looking at it for my reason, skip it and try something else.

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Quick read with some helpful advice Review: Larry King gives some helpful advice for starting conversations in this book. If you don't have a hard time talking to people you won't learn anything from this book. I enjoy talking to people so the advice in the book was nothing I didn't already know.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Back to the basics Review: Larry King knows how to talk, but that doesn't mean he knows how to teach. This is predictable stuff that only will help those who are in need of basic advice. Save your money and your time.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent Advice from the Master Review: Larry shares what Larry knows. I feel some of the reviewers here have missed the point - and the fact that Larry is, after all, an old-school throwback. None-the-less, Larry is a master at getting people to talk. While most people follow the mundane conversation track of "How's the weather?" or "What do you do for a living?", Larry recognizes most of us are bored with answering such questions about our life. Does Patrick Ewing really want to talk basketball 24/7? Probably not. Ask the guy something about his life; something the average person wouldn't ask. I think Larry offers some great advice and I gained a lot from this offering.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: This is mostly a name-dropping kind of book. Review: This book is enternaining in places, but not particularly helpful in my opinion. Larry King is a master of the bold, rapid-fire question type of interview. In this book, though, he talks about celebrities like himself, with whom he is on first name terms. That's fine for him, but there's not much here that I can use.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Talking from experience Review: This book is not the ideal book to learn how to talk to people, but nervertheless it is a good book to read. Larry King in this book talks of his personal experience, how did he reach his current success, from a boy running around the studio working on any work got to current Larry King - one of the successful people of show business.
