Rating: Summary: How to Write for Stargate SG-1. Review: This collection of the original scripts for six episodes of Stargate SG-1 is a reasonably priced look at the creation of today's best SF show on TV. Besides the entire shooting scripts for six important episodes, the book also contains notes and introductions by the writers and directors themselves, making this more than just a script book.
I am not entirely convinced that "Wormhole X-Treme!" is really an essential episode, but I agree with the other choices. Reading the script for "2010", for instance, one gets the sense of threat and danger behind the peaceful appearance of Aschen-occupied Earth. The sense of threat and urgency increases, leading to the inevitable (and shocking) conclusion. A truly magnificent script for a magnificent episode.
The readership for this book, in my opinion, should include hard-core SG-1 fans, but also anyone interested in how great TV shows are scripted and produced.
