Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Unbelievably poor! Review: Actually NO star would be the choice. What a disappointment!! There is absolutely nothing humorous or informative on any page! I wonder about the sanity of the author. Absurd nonsense with no redeeming humorous value is a terrible waste of good paper. I agree with the editorial review: Keep this away from children and anyone else you care about!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best book you will ever read in your life. Review: Rarely do I ever come across books of this calliber. The witty insightfulness and utter genious of this astounding encycolpedia about giraffes is incomparable. If there is one piece of advice I can give you, it is to immediately buy this book. You will laugh until you cry and your life will never be the same. For example, you will talk about capybaras with your friends, be suspicious of yellow bows, and truly wonder where it is that boys dance when it is quite. Enjoy, fellow scholars.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Is It Really So Strange? Review: This unflinchingly absurd book of untruths is not for the humorless reader. While such earnest nonsense may not be suitable for all tastes, only the hopelessly literal-minded would take offense to such an unexpectedly humorous read. Its silliness is immediately engaging. It is an affectionate parody of vintage informational books, and as such is quite handsomely designed.
Although it has its charm simply as a bizarre coffee-table book, its real achievement is how much it has in common with the kinds of books it is mocking. Is the ludicrous misinformation of this book so different from its source material? For example, the supposed fact that Eskimos have several words for snow is still being perpetuated. Depending on how excited the speaker is by this idea, the number may increase to as many as thirty-three words for snow! You see, In the early 1900s, someone who was not actually joking published his "scientific findings" with no factual basis, and the likeable myth began to spread. Although long debunked by linguists, the Great Eskimo Vocabulary Hoax is still going strong. Are the hilariously non-scientific theories presented by Dr. and Mr. Haggis-On-Whey so unlike some of what is still being taught on college campuses?
Ingenious! I hope this really is only the first in a series of 377 books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: beware! too funny for the average joe Review: When I first found this book, I sat in the store reading it and laughing so hard I cried for an hour. I gave it to my friend for her birthday and everyone we show it to becomes obsessed with it. It has information on everything about giraffes from their eating habits to their likes and dislikes to their hobbies to the different spot patterns to a timeline of giraffe history. It even comes with some really cool giraffe cards in the back. Next time you need a gift for your favorite comic or a laugh-fest for yourself, buy this book. I promise it will provide hours of hilarious entertainment.
