Review: This is one of those books that you keep in the library as the perfect reference. The curious minded reader can browse these pages for hours. As the title indicates it is an Encyclopedic work set up in alphabetical order by name. Most entries have biographical information with note of the feast day. The twelve Appendices are a great addition and sort the entries in a range of catagories from Popes, US Martyrs, Mystics, etc. There is a Glossary of terms and a Calendar of Feast Days as well as an Alphabetical Index. Text is broken with the occational black and white engraving. A very comprehensive and complete work on the saints both famous and obscure as well as significant beati.
