Review: A must if you need a better way to reinvent your relationships! Actually read the book and had him speak at my company. What an amazing, but usable way to rethink your way of bonding with people.

Summary: So Simple, So Obvious, and Yet....
Review: As I read this book, I was reminded of Robert Fulghum's assertion that everything he needed to learn he learned in kindergarten. I was also reminded of Lynne Levesue's book, Breakthrough Creativity, in which she explains why it is so important to live -- not merely think -- creatively. The book's subtitle ("Revolutionize Your Brand with the Genius of Childhood") indicates that he agrees with both Fulghum and Levesque: valuable life lessons can be learned (or reaffirmed) by direct association with children, and, such lessons can also have significant relevance to the business world.

Asacker creates a fictional situation in which a CEO named Bill West has become frustrated and depressed by the problems of his "multi-million dollar" company. He needs help and he needs it immediately. A friend refers him to a "guru" named Falcon. West spends most of the day with Falcon and his granddaughter, Annie. He then attempts to apply the "wisdom" he has learned from them. This is a modern fable, really, and brilliantly presented. Frankly, I was both skeptical and cynical as I began to read the book, as was West when he first met Falcon and Annie. The "lessons" West learns are lessons all of us already know and generally forget. For example, "Keep an open mind." However, each lesson is revitalized by the human context within which it is illustrated.

Those who share my high regard for Who Moved My Cheese?, Leadership and Self-Deception, and The Power of Six Sigma are urged to read this book. As with each of the others, what you "get out of" Asacker's book will depend almost entirely on the nature and extent of your willingness to learn what you need to know...or to be reminded of what you first learned as a child and perhaps have since forgotten.

Summary: Tom gets it!
Review: I first came across Tom's writing in an online marketing newsletter I received. In it, he wrote about how important it is to understand, and care about, our customers' feelings. Most important, he did it with a real eye towards getting results, which is obviously "top of mind" in the business world. The other thing that struck me about Tom's writing is that he writes in a real way, about the real stuff we all go through. In creating a business, building a brand is one of the most critical pieces. Tom shows you how to do it, with some help from the kids. Because, after all, the children get this stuff - they walk through puddles and sprinklers. They taste first snows on their tongues. And Tom gets that they get it, so he shares it with us. Thanks, Tom!

Review: I really enjoyed this book. It makes you think about your goals and values in your business and personal life. It's a quick, easy, read but packs a lot in a small volume! I will buy this book again to give to special friends.

Summary: It's all about relationships
Review: I truly enjoyed Tom Asacker's "Sandbox Wisdom." Itbrings everything we do, regardless of our field, down to the corebasics of relationships and connectedness with others. I recommend this book highly for people in any line of business or for those just interested in feeling more connected to others.

Summary: Best networking book since "Who Moved My Cheese"!
Review: I'd recommend this book even if I didn't know the author personally, and had the pleasure of speaking with him one-on-one and in his unforgettable, one-of-a-kind seminars. This is one of those breakthrough books like "Who Moved My Cheese", "One-Minute Manager" and "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" of which you'll buy a couple of dozen to pass along to your best friends and clients. You probably won't even wait until Christmas, but when it comes, you'll buy a couple dozen more for the new friends and contacts you've made - simply by applying the wisdom from the sandbox. And the lessons learned go way beyond re-energizing your business batteries, reaching as well into all of life's important relationships like love, parenting and enduring friendship. Way to go, Tom!

Summary: It's All Inside
Review: Sandbox Wisdom compels you to get inside of yourself; it rejuvenates you, and your appoach to life and business. Tom takes you through a process that coaches you to discover your passion and the things that are truly important... relationships. The manner in which he does this is refreshing, playful, efficient, and immediately applicable. Through a creative story, Tom dares to tell all of us in business that it can be simple if we just remember the genius of childhood that innately knows it's really all about people! People, that's what our employees and customers are. This is a must read!

Summary: A New Discovery
Review: Sandbox Wisdom encompasses the values that it takes to be in the customer relationship business. Tom has a gift for having the reader understand that we are in the Real Feelings vs. Real Goods business. This is a must read for everyone in sales and management. Sandbox Wisdom is an excellent metaphor for today's business world.

Summary: Sandbox Wisdom, change your point of view.
Review: This book really made me realize the basics again. As I read the book, it really made me realize where I was going wrong with my own selling approach, and pointed out the simplicity in the solution. The examples and subject matter is relevant to todays business situations, and he uses effective quotes and stories to drive his points home. It is important to note that I read this book in one sitting! This is something that I never do! This book is entertaining, has a relaxing tone, and is an easy read. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Back to the basic
Review: This books works in parallel to "Everything I Learned, I Learned in Kindergarten" but conveys the message in a single narrative. The message is also similar to Tom Peter's BrandYou. It goes back to the simplicity of the sandbox and childhood to convey the message for a successful business life today. Well written, indeed enchanting without being overly pedantic. A short and easy read but well worth it. Enjoy!
