Summary: Good Tips for the money
Review: For the price u paid, u could definitely get good tips from it! The math section is quite useful too. I think more practice questions are needed to illustrate how the tips work. But, for the price u pay, it certainly meets my expectation!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Lots of practice material
Review: Having taken another prep company, I was completely thrown off on how to do well the MCAT Verbal section. They used all of these "different" techniques that did not work at all. The EK book pointed me in the right direction. It taught me how I should approach the MCAT Verbal section and what skills are completely necessary to do well on the MCAT. I know I did much better on the real MCAT (4-20-02) using their methods instead of the other prep company's... . Not only do I feel this way, but my practice exams from AAMC prove I did better using the Examcrackers methods.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very helpful techniques in concise format
Review: I've used several of the MCAT products related to the Verbal Reasoning Section and I found this product to be BY FAR the most helpful. It's a quick read, but the information is practical and easy to apply. Certainly buy this book if you want to develop the skills you need to get a really high verbal score. If you're only looking to acheive an average score, you might not need to bother with this book, as many other resources are available to help you gain some BASIC verbal skills. Remember, fellow MCAT'ers, the Verbal is the most difficult section to improve your score in, so its imperitive that you PRACTICE EXTENSIVELY if you want a really high score.

Summary: Brief and Concise
Review: The verbal strategies they present in the book are brief and concise and are almost totally opposite to strategies promoted by companies such as Princeton and Kaplan. Using their strategies helped me improve speed a lot (One main strategy is to eliminate steps that are not neccessary to getting the answers right). THe emphasis of reading passages like reading a magazine article instead of analyzing a dense textbook also helped me to avoid MCAT traps (They're evil, I tell you)
The book is really thin and short, but the perspectives presented were unique. If you feel that you always misunderstood the author's ideas in the passages or ran out of time to do all 9 passages, give this book a try. The strategies may seem intimidating and risky at first, but you just need to keep on practicing to get a hang of it. Even my friends who scored relatively high in the verbal section said the strategies they used were similar to Examkrackers', although they were not consciously aware of this until I told them about Examkrackers.

Summary: I'll say this......
Review: These books are amazing! As a minority student, I came into the Examkrackers course having already studied for months with other books and hoping for a 24 or 25 on the MCAT. After studying with these books for 10 weeks, I gained new confidence and I took the August MCAT expecting a thirty or better! My practice exam scores steadily increased over the 10 week study period from a 22 to a 30 on the last two exams. What helped me most was the way the books presented the material to me. There were no longwinded explanations or useless facts that would confuse me. They cut right to the chase and told me exactly what I needed to know and what I needed to do in order to improve my score. The verbal strategy was especially effective when I totally committed myself to it. I went from a 9 to a twelve in verbal. (One criticism is that the verbal books need more practice passages.) I highly recommend these books to anyone having trouble finding quality study materials for this exam.

Summary: Lots of practice material
Review: These practice tests are just like the real MCAT. They give you a very close approx. of what your real MCAT verbal score will be like. I recommend this book for verbal practice, and it can be used almost exclusively by itself for review. They give 11 total verbal practice tests, and that's alot. No other verbal practice material compares.

Summary: Right to the Point
Review: This book has pretty good ideas on how to tackle the Verbal Reasoning section of the MCAT exam. I recommend it to those who can read fast and think they answered most the questions right but end up scoring bellow a 10. This book will guide you in the right direction on how to answer the very confusing questions, how to spot tricky questions, and how to overcome the habit of referring to the passage over and over with every question. The book however contains only three 30 minutes verbal exams!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Improved my score.
Review: This book is very helpful because it cuts the useless trivia and gets right down to the point. The math section is simplified and makes it easier and faster to answer questions in physics and chemistry once you've learned the techniques. The verbal reasoning section even though very small comparing to other VR books is very powerful. I think it is a perfect book to start with, but you will need to buy more verbal reasoning books to practice.
