Summary: Series 7 - great test prep book
Review: Arco's Series 7 book was a great review of material on the exam. The authors included detailed information on "products" a rep can offer a customer. That's followed up with an examination of the securities market an procedures in handling accounts. This info not only helped me prepare for the exam but is also a great reference to use on the job. There are great lists of key terms after each chapter, a guide to reading financial news, and a breakdown of all of the regulations we need to know. After reading all of the review info, there are many practice questions for each area as well as three practice exams. This was definitely the best book to buy - concise, easy-to-follow, a great reference book, and on top of all that it had a great price.

Summary: Good Basic Series 7 Exam Book
Review: I purchased this book with the intent of studying it in preparation of taking my Series 7 license exam. With my degree in Finance and reading through the book once and taking the practice exams, I am averaging about 50% pass rate, 70% is passing on the actual exam. I am continuing to study this book until I get hired by a firm that will sponser me to take the exam, this book keeps it fresh in my mind. The practice questions are good, I think a few are incorrect, since I go back and check my answers afterwords. This a a good basic book, I would recommend it to anyone in the same situation that I am in.

Summary: don't get this thing whatever you do
Review: I was in the process of preparing for my Series 7 exam. Bought the Arco book because I saw it at a local bookstore and thought it was more affordable than others. My first impression of the Arco book seems was clear and simple. After spending 2 weeks studying the first 120 pages, I've found that the book was confusing at times, organized in a way that does not utilize some of the "best known methods" of a exam-prep book. From my frustrations, I cross-referenced the PASSTRAK Series 7 book by Dearborn at a local bookstore, found that the PASSTRAK book was much more in detail and organized in a way that I can easily understand the subjects, no only the stated facts, but also the underlying concepts. In addition, the PASSTRAK book provides numerous "test tips", and highlights of the concepts and typical test question types. The PASSTRAK also has great quiz and end of chapter questions that are clearly written with answers that go into detail to explain. These are what I consider exam-prep book's "best known methods" to prepare an exam candidate. Conclusion: better off spending a bit more money for the PASSTRAK. I wish I didn't buy the Arco book, because after studying the PASSTRAK book, all the flaws in the Arco book became so appearant. Good luck!

Review: Test questions on CD ROM, sometimes the explanation of what was suppose to be the correct answer would not match up with the correct answer as graded. Typo errors throughout book and CD, very annoying. Format of book made for easy reading.

Summary: Simply Horrible!!!
Review: Very poorly written, too many errors (from typos, to calculations, to errors on the practice exams!). The CD is also horrible. I have had to seek other sources of material because I do not believe I will pass the Series 7 with this book alone!
