Rating: Summary: Getting right down to business Review: This is a very good book especially in regard to the business of writing for children. If you want to write picture books, I also recommend "How to Write and Sell Children's Picture Books" by Jean Karl. She has great details. If you are interested in writing for older children, I recommend "How to Write a Children's Book and Get It Published" by Barbara Seuling. She has some information about picture books also. She has a lot about writing. If you want to promote your book or have any thoughts at all about self-publishing, be sure to get "A Basic Guide to Writing, Selling, and Promoting Children's Books: Plus Information about Self-publishing" by Betsy B. Lee. Promotion is also covered very well in "An Author's Guide to Children's Book Promotion" by Susan Salzman Raab. These are my top favorites but I have many more which I often use. I'm sure any serious writer for children would benefit from having these five handy. Each of these gives you a special perspective about finding your writing "voice" plus many other valuable resources in books and on the Internet.
