Rating: Summary: Good only if your just starting your research Review: I found this book pretty superficial. It includes a lot of common sense ancedotes that, if you've done much research at all, will sound very repetitive. It was a fast and boring read for me. If you want to read about being a physician Becoming a Doctor or Intern Blues are lot more meaty. And there's several better books about getting into medical school too.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book Review: I have read this book a number of times over the past several years. I very much enjoyed reading it and felt it was instrumental in my journey towards medical school. I suggest it to any pre-med.
Rating: Summary: Great for college students Review: I was given this book as a gift when I made it public that I wanted to become a pediatrician. I'm graduating this year and entering Pre-med in the fall. This book is a MUST READ if you are thinking about going into the medical field. It cleared up many of the questions and uncertainties I have had. Everything is explained so clearly and completely. I especially like how it follows all the way to the MCAT and then Med school. I'll be able to use it all through my medical education.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book is great and very helpful. It gives loads of wonderful advice that most people need (i.e. you don't have to major in Chemistry of Biology to get into medical school). It is also a good investment- it'll take you from you college years all the way to medical school. It's a joy to read because of the humor thrown in here and there. It's clear and precise. Another thing is that they also talk to actual students and get their opinions. This is a good thing because every student is different and have all sorts of reasons for going to medical school. Everyone doesn't decide to follow in their parents footsteps at the age of three- you may decide to go when you are thirty-three! All-in-all, this is a must have for every pre-med student!

Rating: Summary: Best advice you can get if you want to become a doctor Review: This book is truly fantastic. It isn't like all of the other books that basically just tell you what to do. This book gives you options, and advice. This book helps you in understanding what to expect, what kind of effort will be needed on your part, and so much more. This book is a must for anyone considering medicine as a career.
Rating: Summary: Great Information Review: This book outlines everything involved in considering a career in medicine. It is simple and clear! I read portions of the book to motivate me at times.
Rating: Summary: Read this book if you think you want to go to med school. Review: This is an excellent resource- honest and actually interesting to read. I only wish there were a little more advice for non-traditional students. Other than that, this book has been extremely helpful and really correlates with what medical students, doctors, and admissions people have told me. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering a career in medicine (especially if you're undecided).

Rating: Summary: This is a great book Review: This was a well thought out and informative book. The authors not only go into the "right" reasons to become a doctor, but also the whole ordeal from pre-med to medical school. Worth every penny.
