Summary: Title was a LIE, few tidbits of information,
Review: Hard to believe someone with much education and industry experience would state that your going to obtain an interview in three days. The market is tough, and the title here had nothing in the book to back it up. Try 3 weeks to 3 months, be honest.
I found a few other title's more real world and better written.
But for the money I would probably suggest buying two or three of the books on the topic (yes, even this one) and read them all.
Interviewing was tough, and I secured a job twice in this industry, the books do help.

Summary: A must for interviews!
Review: I have worked as a Chemist in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing for about four years and have always had an interest in Pharmaceutical Sales. Lack of sales experience had been a major setback in landing a Pharmaceutical Sales position until I purchased this book. After completing the three day course, and realizing there were ways to get around lack of sales experience, I landed five interviews with top Pharmaceutical Companies such as Aventis, Novartis, First Horizon, GSK and Berlex labs.

Interviews went well and I recently accepted a position as a Pharmaceutical Sales Consultant with Berlex Labs. I wanted to encourage anyone and everyone with a drive to purchase this book. Well worth the money and it really works!
Best regards,
Brent

Summary: A very effective approach to landing interviews!
Review: I never thought I would have taken the approach suggested in this book to land interviews with pharmaceutical companies. It is a very effective approach that gets results. I have some great leads and have a phone interview with J and J this week as a result of reading this book.

The author also offers a free email helpline if you buy the book. I have used that and she has responded to all my questions within 24 hours. Definitely some great, creative, insight!

Summary: Great book! I owe my new career to it.
Review: I wanted to get the most current info for a job search in this field and bought this book 2 months ago when it first became available. I now have a job in the pharmaceutical industry! I interviewed with several companies and was just offered this position.

It seems like I know so much about the industry for someone who has never done this before. It was due to following this book. It offered a ton of insight into this industry, helped me land interviews, helped me get thru my interviews with the right answers and ultimately helped me stand out from my competition. Fun to read, a professional, concise format, and full of great illustrations from the industry. The resume tips were great and extensive. If you follow the info from this book, you will be amazed at what a difference it will make!

Summary: Good advice for someone trying to break in to Pharma Sales
Review: I've been trying to break into medical sales for about 3 months and have secured an interview at a major pharmaceutical company. I did not buy or use this book to get interviews, but the section regarding the likely interview questions and the 'right' answers were very helpful. When you haven't worked in pharmaceuticals, its hard to anticipate what a hiring manager is going to ask and what they want your answers to be. I think I'm going into this interview much better prepared than I would have been otherwise, especially since she gives helpful hints on what a day in the life of a pharmaceutical rep is like. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt like maybe the author printed this book out on her home computer and bound it. The presentation wasn't very professional, but the content was helpful.

Summary: Very good book with tips that really work!
Review: It took me just 2 days to land my first interview with Hawthorn Pharmaceuticals. The first day of using the program, I met 5 different district managers and they were so impressed by what I was doing to break into this field. I owe it all to this book. The best news of all is that I also got a call from Pfizer and am interviewing with them next week. I met one of their reps using this program. This program is a must for people who are looking to land interviews in this industry. I am a prime example of how a 24 year old recent graduate with very little sales experience can land an interview. With a little Lisa Lane (author) guidance and initiative anyone can do it. Kent

Summary: Very good book with tips that really work!
Review: The main point I took away from this book, was the guerrilla tactic of stalking a pharm. rep, and begging for their help, while they are on the job! Most of the things she recommends could be applied in any industry. Her advice is very generic, and her resume help was laughable. I can't believe how much I paid for this book, a book that is akin to a kindergarten workbook in content and style.

Summary: Alright
Review: This book approaches jobs in a unique way yes, however it is not needed. Many books write the same type of suggestions that this book offers. Simply taking a trip to the librabry and reading up on interviews and how to approach them will save you the cost of this book. One suggestion even hints at giving the hiring manager a gift that will better your chances of them reviewing your resume and thus inviting you into thier office for and interview. I don't know what lengths people will go to in order to get this job but that sounds like bribery and just plain not ethical. The book can be read in a day and the suggestions again are rudimentary at best. I gave this book a two star as it was useful in that it will give you a few websites to review and a page and a half of assertive words to use on a resume. Other than that(which can be found all at your local library), this book isnt't worth your time.

Summary: I landed a pharmaceutical sales job !
Review: This book was very helpful in getting me an interview set up with three pharmaceutical companies, however, I needed ' Drug Rep Success' another pharmaceutical sales book in order to help land the job. I interviewed with three pharmaceutical companies and it wasn't until I learned what the interviewer was looking for that I landed the Job on the third interview. 'Drug Rep Success' was written by a guy that actually does the interviewing for pharmaceutical companies.

I have read four books on getting into this industry and only two of them really gave any good tips. Overall this is a must buy book for anyone trying to break into the industry.

Thanks,

Tina
